Lyric Finder Search Engine

Anyone know of a good site to look for artists off of lyrics? I'm trying to fill out some missing information (band names mostly) off of a few compilation cd's that friend gave me.

I'm not getting much luck without a song title, or band name.

You can't just type some of the lyrics and then add "lyrics"?

AKA "(part of chorus you remember) lyrics" in Google?

Google is best for this. Most of the time you don't even have to include "lyrics" as a search term. Now, if the song you're looking for has lyrics like "I love you" you're on your own.

It works ok, but if the songs a remix with parenthesis in it, it usually wont find it

I've been using Google, Wikipedia, and AZLyrics for information, and Secondspin to verify by listening.

That's a partial problem LOL, but once you start factoring covers it starts to get a little more tedious. It's kind of becoming a game to figure out what the hell I'm listening to.

Thanks for the suggestions though, guess Google is as good as it gets.

Depending on what genre they are, http://plyrics.com might be of help to you. Primarily covers indie/punk/emo stuff.
