Madcatz screen protectors vs Hori

Everyone seems to have nothing but bad things to say about Madcatz screen protectors, and hail Hori as the second comming of Jesus or something. There's a lot of criticism of Madcatz, yet people never get into the specifics of why Madcatz protectors are worse, except that, "OMG they suck, get Horis because they're way better lol."

I use Madcatz protectors for my DS lite myself, and I find them to be really good. Contrary to what people say, I have no air bubbles, there is no loss of clarity, and there is minimal loss of sensitivity, even when playing touch screen heavy games, like Ouendan, Trauma Center and Brain Age.

The only problem I have with the madcatz protectors, is that when I eventually want to remove them, it'll be next to impossible, as they seem to be really stuck on there... I doubt scotch tape will do the trick either, because the static cling looks to be very strong...

So yeah, for anyone in the know, please explain to me exactly why Madcatz screen protectors suck, and why Horis are so much better.

Also, does anyone have any tips for removing screen protectors? I know scotch tape will not work... maybe electrical tape?

The Madcatz protectors for the original DS used a gluey substance rather then the much prefered static cling of the Hori. Madcatz fixed this with the Lite, it's just that most people these days have come to associate Madcatz products with poor quality (or at least secondary). There is no real advantage to the Lite screen protectors that Hori puts out over the Madcatz ones other then the very consistently high quality screen protectors Hori puts out.

To try and remove them, what I try to do is use scotch tape on a corner. You'd be surprised how well it works.

Hows the pelican ones?

Ive been meaning to pick up some and all ive seen are the pelicans....

if the Madcatz are good ill pick them up

For the Horis I have to use packing tape on the corner to get them lifted up, normal scotch tape isn't strong enough for me, so I'd try that with the MCs.

I've only used the Hori protectors and absolutely love them. I think furyk pretty much nailed it. MC has put out some pretty junky stuff over the years, so I'm leery of using them for something like this. If the Horis were much more expensive than other options that'd be one thing, but they aren't.

I've had the pelican protector on my touch screen for about a month and a half now. It has some minor scratches on it but nothing even remotely noticable while playing. Went on smoothly, only complaint is that the one corner refused to stay down, but other than that I've been satisfied with it.

The protector for the top screen is slightly bigger than the one for the bottom screen, correct? I'm thinking I'm going to try and trim it a bit and use it to replace the one on the bottom screen once the time comes. I don't see the point in putting a protector on the top screen and since I've got it anyway, why not try...
