Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!
sorry, man. I feel bad because I felt like I should've had that game. St. Saint screwed me over by fumbling a kick return which turned into a TD and that was the difference between winning and losing. He made up for it by picking off Brees right after I threw a pick on a deep ball and he ran back 2 kick returns later in the game, but that fumble was the difference.

I was also working down a man on D on that last scoring driving too because St. Saint just ran two kicks back in a row so he was obviously not coming out to play D. Do you always use him as a returner?
You really torched me on those 2 kick returns. I think I held the ball for pretty much the whole second half cuz of your returns.. your D was just too tired.

It seems as if I may need to keep Patrick Robinson, Robert meachem was playing CB in the second half?

I could not run the ball for my life, kinda looked like the real life saints
Gb I'm a lil interested in robinson if ur looking to ship him.....
I don't really see anything that I need on your team.

hah, yeah, it's almost like I should've just ran out of bounds at around the 50 yard line and tried to sustain a long drive just to give my defensive players a breather.
I'm home so I can play for the vikings untill 6 ish
Ramesu PMed me earlier and said he wouldn't be home until a little after 6. I should be home by then so I can handle it.

Im in the process of learning a new playbook, one that isn't so based on the 4 wide tight. Don't know if I will use it this week or not

edit: I'm still gonna make it work with Mike Wallace :)

Neworlbush, I have to play our game by the end of the day Thursday since can't guarantee any specific availability for Friday or Saturday. What time frames are generally good for you?

Uber- with advancement, does that mean no more trades?

P.S. Thanks for "taking out a couple Saints."

Vikings 35 - Texans 28

The top ranked defense in the NFL got a taste of Purple Jesus, who rushed for 166 yards on 10 carries for 3 TDs - the vast majority coming on two long scores, one a 70 yarder on the first play of the game. Meanwhile Orton was 9 of 12 for 200 yards and 2 TDs, both long ones to Harvin, who had 155 of those yards.

The difference was definitely in the Vikings ruining Matt Schaub's perfect season passer rating (I couldn't believe that was possible when I saw it) by picking him twice, once at the goalline at the end of the first half and again on the Texans' final drive. Schaub still managed to post a rating over 100 though.

After trailing by 7 at halftime the Texans had grabbed a lead following a missed FG by Longwell (damned lag!) but the Vikings tied it on a long AP run and then took the lead moments later after the Texans fumbled the ensuing kickoff. AP scored again from 8 out on the next play to give the Vikings the final 35-28 score. After the last Schaub pick AP could have scored again after breaking through for the required 1st down to salt the game, but instead went down voluntarily with open field in front of him, much to the chagrin of fantasy owners.

gg Ramesu! I can't remember the last time we played, but it was quite enjoyable. Very good game on both sides.

Also.. Whoever on the Vikings medical staff is responsible for keeping shoulder labrums in shape needs to get fired stat. Both Jared Allen and Chad Greenway tore theirs, putting them out 2 and 3 weeks respectively. Definitely more damaging was the Texans losing Owen Daniels for 9 weeks to a dislocated hip.
Going to advance us in a minute. Trade deadline will be when we advance this week.
Is Venom ever coming back or am I up again?

Not that I mind, I really enjoy this team. :D

As for the trading deadline, I'm still open to moving Antonio Gates.

Raiders fail to show up for the big game and get dominated in the trenches by the Jets. Campbell had about 1 second to throw each time and the running game was nonexistant after trailing 17-0 early. Game started off with a Campbell sack-lob pick 6. GG uber. You played very well. That TD pass that burned Asomugha just deflated me.

I really need some line help on both sides of the ball.

Even with those two critical picks (two passes I should have never thrown) I still feel I should've won that game, the kick return fumble was the key imo.

GG though.

Thanks man, it was a fun one. GG. That's probably the most complete defensive performance I've had all season. Who would have thought Kris Jenkins would be capable of a pick six?

I also had my fair share of luck. Even though it was late, you had Greene dead in the endzone for a safety. That play pretty much summed up the game when he was able to twist out of the tackle and gain 4 yards.

Yeah both of your lines were just blowing past mine every play. What do you feed those guys?

Wasn't surprised Greene twisted on that one, couldn't stop the run at all.

But hey, thanks for the Jacoby Ford punt return lol. For a second I thought I had the onside kick as well.

Hahha, I have yet to master the art of the low punt. That's the 2nd time it's happened to me in the last few days, maybe I should give it up. I'm pretty okay at kicking it out of bounds with the regular distance punt, but I thought I was so far back I needed that something extra.

Power Rankings Report
Despite still being undefeated the Texans fall from #1 to #3. The other two remaining undefeated teams, Seattle and the New York Jets, take over the top 2 spots at #1 and #2, respectively.

Welcome back, Green Bay. The Pack is back in the top 10, as they moved up 2 spots this week to #10. The Falcons are dangerously close to falling out of the Top 10. They now sit at #9 after falling 2 spots. The Panthers might be the team to displace them as they sit right outside at #11, after jumping up 5 spots.

Biggest gain: Eagles (+8)
Biggest drop: Lions (-6)

Good luck to all this week!

Ooooooooooooooooooo. How did I miss that?

Well, then there were 2!
Even with those two critical picks (two passes I should have never thrown) I still feel I should've won that game, the kick return fumble was the key imo.

GG though.
I'm not sure you can really say you should have won it, though you definitely could have. It's not like I got a lot of fluke plays other than the fumble recovery, and my offense moved it well all game and I didn't make any mistakes (unusual for me). Definitely could have gone either way, but saying you "should've" won kind of takes away from the fact that I picked Schaub twice (when he had a perfect QB rating on the day coming in) and moved the ball on your D which had been pretty untouchable all season.
Wat did u want for gates just curious?? Are u looking for picks or players
Ideally both, but it would take a king's ransom to move him to a team I need to face twice a season. :D
Ooooooooooooooooooo. How did I miss that?
Every once in a while I remind myself I'm able to hang with the big boys if I play mistake-free football. It's quite reassuring.

Also, you and the Seahawks are welcome. :D
Make room in the AFC West cellar BV, I may be taking that position this season.
That's a bit of an overstatement considering I'm already 0-3 in the division with two more coming up against you and mog in the next two weeks. I'm still shooting for 10-6 with a 10-0 non-division record. :D

I really thought that TD to Harvin was picked...you threw into double coverage and my safety had that ball dead to rights (still don't know what happened)

On AP's second long run...the safety was schemed perfectly to make a stop but wasn't squared and only brushed against him when he should've tackled him after about a 15 yard gain.

Then after you'd tied the game, I fumble on the kick return when I'm holding RB. With three minutes left, I don't think you would've stopped me in that situation with the score tied.

But I only really have myself to blame, -3 in turnover differential isn't a winning formula.

I just feel like I lost the game more than you won it...
(still don't know what happened)
He didn't catch it and Harvin did instead. ;) Although it wasn't really double coverage, as I recall he'd already beaten the CB so he was just against the safety at that point. I'll usually take my chances with that matchup, sometimes it's picked other times it worked out the way it did. I'm not afraid to roll the dice on those long ones.

I guess we can just agree to disagree, but I played a strong game and you couldn't stop my offense any more than I could stop yours. So I'm not going to let you make me feel less good about the win as if you somehow gave it away, because that's not how I see it.

Let's do that...agree to disagree. From my perspective that game was handed over on a platter...but I really hope we get to play again...soon!

Edit: after looking at the stats, I feel even more strongly that I gave it away:
3rd Down Conversions: Texans 4/5 - Vikings 2/5
Time of Possession: Texans 13:08 - Vikings 6:52
First downs: Texans 16 - Vikings 4
Turnovers: Texans 3 - Vikings 0
Going to advance us in a minute. Trade deadline will be when we advance this week.
Okay. If I do decide to go forward with attempts to make moves, I'll post the block tomorrow.

Posting time of possession and first down numbers kind of ignores the fact that I had touchdowns of 70, 72, 42, and 55 yards. My first possession was what, 10 seconds and a TD? Of course you won time of possession.

Give it up dude, you're acting like a sore loser and it's not necessary, we played a good game.

A sore loser I will be especially when I gave the game away, never said it wasn't a good game...
You had no sustainable offense (I think you called 3 plays the whole game)...which the TOP points to. You were only able to get chunks on 3rd and long aside from that first play.

You didn't beat me, I beat myself. Usually I'm a very gracious player and loser but this game is under my skin for some reason...I'm not giving anything up, deal with it.

I did beat you. Says so right there on the scoreboard. And I called plenty of different plays, you apparently just can't recognize the difference, which is your problem, not mine.

I'm sorry that you can't accept that it's possible the great Ramesu could be beaten, but you're being incredibly insulting and I don't really see any reason for it. Unlike you I make no pretenses about being one of the best players in the league, but I've beaten plenty of the better players, and guess what, I beat you too. You're going to have to come to grips with it because it's not going anywhere.

fuck there was a disconnect between gregthomas and me. I think it said I lost connection to the EA server and on his screen it said i quit and he could count the game (he didnt). I was winning 31-14 in the 4th with i think around a minute left.

You're both entitled to your own opinions about how the game went. Who cares if he thought he gave the game away? You won which is what matters. He seems to be saying that turnovers is what cost him the game which definitely seems to be the case. Throwing two picks is a user error, so it's not out of line for him to say he gave the game away. That's not to say you didn't play a good game (the stat line shows you played a VERY good game), but with a really close game like that...if the turnover differential is -3 for the losing team, that's obviously, if not THE deciding factor, a major major one.

If someone loses a close game and says "man I suck...I can't believe I threw so many dumb picks", I can't imagine that person being called a sore loser. That's basically the same exact thing as saying "I gave the game away". BV if you know you outplayed him then there's no reason why his comments should bother you. This is a pointless argument, I've been in a few of those myself but it's clearer when you're on the outside of one. I typed this whole thing up before Ramesu's last comment...so yeah he's being a bit of a sore loser now, but he seems to already admit that lol.

I can see you maybe getting a little upset at Ramesu when he talked about certain plays where he should have stopped you...but that's just a typical "I got screwed in Madden" post that EVERYONE does so often. It would be weird if someone DIDN'T get screwed in any given game of Madden.

I tried to. It said if I counted it I would receive the win. I didn't that you would want that, but......

I have no problem saying the turnovers were the difference, in fact I said so in the initial post on the game. Obviously they were the difference, but they happened in the game.

If he's frustrated because he threw those picks and felt like he could have played better, I have no problem with that. My issue is with crap like "you can't sustain an offense" and "you only ran 3 plays", it's just petty bullshit and it's not good sportsmanship.
I tried to. It said if I counted it I would receive the win. I didn't that you would want that, but......
Im sorry if that came out that way...i was just explaining the situation. I have no idea how the whole counting/ not counting thing works since I have not seen that screen much at all.

No problem, I was joking around.

It says you'd get the W but I think that's the only message it displays. It just counts the results as is. It's always good to just ask the person you're playing, but 2+ score lead with under a minute remaining, might as well count it.
