just wondering, cause im wanting to get this game

also, 08 the show looks like it will improve

ive heard that 2k8 releases in early march, but is there anything that has come out about it other than jose reyes on the cover?

btw, padres will be sick on pitching, that is if prior is healthy

I haven't heard ANYTHING about this either and sports games are my favorite genre.

All I know is they need to fix alot of the actual GAMEPLAY. Everything else was pretty good from what I remember.

I remember reading that the lead producer thought that 2k7 sucked as well. He said it was rushed to meet the upcoming season. Forgot where I read that though.

In the beginning, I loved 2k7. Looked awesome graphic wise, great presentation, but the actual gameplay wasn't very good as I went along. I just hope they improve it alot.

not till like... 2012 or something rediculous like that... I really miss my MVP. :(

But didn't 2k' get one of the lead dudes from MVP after the fallout? That's why I'm looking forward to 2k8, hopefully it'll be sick.

I am a fan of The Show, but something tells me it won't be compatible on the 360....

I've never played the 2K series for baseball. I hope it's good b/c I don't really want to go without a baseball game this year. I skipped 07 The Show so I am ready for something new.

08 the show will be on ps3(and ps2), its a sony developed game, so it will never be on the 360, all we get is mlb 2k8

you could buy a ps3 and get the show, but thats if money is not a problem

itll be a good competition this year b/w those 2 games, 08 wont be a system seller, but being that the show series is more gameplay over graphics, it might make me a system seller(aka me buy a ps3)

I'm still keeping my hopes up that somewhere down the line Konami decides to bring their baseball game over (Pro Yakyuu Spirits) to 360.

Seeing as Konami and 2K already put a game out (Power Pros, which I love to no end and hope to see more of it), I wonder in my crazy little mind that when 2K starts looking at Konami's Pro Yakyuu Spirits series, the gears start grinding.

Alas, for now it's only a dream. But damnit, MLB 2K has sucked the last three years. I sold my PSP this summer, so no Show for me.

Here's to hoping 2K doesn't fuck up again.

I will go with the SHOW 08 this year. I love the 2K games, but they have let me down lately. Baseball has been horrid...the Show put it to shame. Sucks, as I really enjoy my 360 a LOT more than the PS3.

Yup, I'm aware it's a Sony exclusive. Hehe...I said Sony exclusive. JK...I really have nothing against the PS3. It's a very good game. I really enjoyed 06 but couldn't justify going for 07.

I do plan to get a PS3 at some point. Not sure if it will be in 08. I guess worst case scenario is I pick it up for the PS2 and get my next gen baseball fix in 09.

2k7 was horrible. When it's easier to hit a home run than a single, you have problems. I'll never forget the downloaded demo on the 360 when I hit 4 hr's the first inning I played. I shouldn't have to adjust sliders that much just to make the game serviceable.

Im curious as to the wii version of it. All someone needs to do is take the Wii Sports baseball game, add normal graphics, fielding, check swing and depth (probably more, but that's what I can think of right now) and you will have a decent game.

The Bigs didn't cut it. Power Pros was very good but I am looking forward to a baseball game utilizing the obvious advantages the Wii has.

I don't know how anyone could say 2K7 was bad.MVP reigned supreme for a few years, and MLB 2K5 and 2K6 were atrocious. But 2K7 has been the best next gen baseball game we've gotten.

That doesn't make it good though. I can fire up MVP 2005 (or whatever the hell year had Manny Ramirez on the cover) and it is all around a better baseball game than 2k7. No contest.

This thread makes me want to find those new Ultimate Roster updates some guy was doing every year for MVP 2005 for ps2 and go back to playing it. God damn, I loved that game.

That's like saying Tiger Wood's the best next-gen golf game.

MLB 07 on the PS2 was the best baseball game of the year (since MVP 05) and 08 on the PS3 should be ready to step up. It's too bad you guys don't get a choice for your 360 baseball action.

MVP 2005 was and is the best. Hands down.

That being said, I'm stoked to hear that 2K8 will have a bigger farm system than 2K7. My roommates and I loved to create a dynasty off of our farm systems.

Yeah, after reading the interview on ign about the game (check the ps3 page for the game), I'm really looking forward to this game. They're redoing just about everything internally about the game, including fixing the whole HR mess of 2k7's. Also said fielding's going to be new as well, which is good cause 2k7's was kind of bland, espiecially for plays near the walls (Don't you have me climb a wall for a ball landing just inside the warning track! >).

If Im not mistaken they have redone just about everything on each version since 2k5. I seem to remember that being something I read before each new one comes out.

Regarding people's responses to my last post, I liked MLB 2K7 much better than MLB 07. Yes, MVP 2005 was better, but it's horribly out of date and 2K7 is still a very good game IMO.
I wish they'd get away from this dual stick swining and go back to the old MVP Baseball/MLB Power Pros system.
You know you can change that in the settings, right?

Theres a new interview up on gamespot and there are pics up on ign.....This game hasnt changed in look since last time and it is nowhere near the show. Hopefully the gameplay is good b/c thats all that really matters
You know you can change that in the settings, right?
Ya, but I didn't like it as much as other games (like MVP 05 or whatnot). The game was definitely meant to be played on the dual stick.

Agreed. My favorite baseball game of all time will always be World Series Baseball II for the Sega Saturn (if you haven't played this, check it out--it's awesome) but MVP 2005 (with Manny on the cover) is a close second.

We all understand that MVP 05 was better than 2k7 but that doesn't mean 2k7 sucked. I got a lot of play time out of 2k7 and wouldn't say it sucked by any stretch of the imagination.

My favorite game is still Baseball Stars. MLB Power Pros jumped to 2nd on that list.

Theres a new interview on ign and there are also screen shots. This game looks much better on the 360 than the ps3 but nowhere near 08 the show

Wow, I'm surprised MLB The Show is getting a lot of love. Makes me sad I don't have a PS3. Hopefully MLB 2K8 won't disappoint.

Guys there are 4 new vids up on ign. IDK what to say. They dont really show enough. The graphics are meh but Im not concerned about graphics

I may just get The Bigs if they release it again with some better updates (like more bench players, and not broken stuff).
Im still getting it but I didnt see many of the upgrades mainly due to the lackluster ign videos
If anything, the IGN vids show the homer problem is still there, 2 solo homers in the top of the 1st.

No it actualy shows that the person pitching was really bad. Did you see how many meat balls they were throwing? That means the pitching will actualy take skill this year

Heh gay. Just watched the 4 IGN videos and the 2 showing Boston show Ortiz striking out and Jeter homering. Suck a bit more NY cock why don't ya?
Do Devil Ray fans count as baseball fans?
Not anymore.

Rays fans might though.

They got rid of the Devil part of their name ;)
Do Devil Ray fans count as baseball fans?
I give them credit for sticking by their hometown teams. There's a lot of people who just jump on bandwagons and THOSE are the fans that don't count. Make fun of the Rays all you want (I do :D ) but you can't say that the fans who support them aren't fans, if anything they're among the best fans because they just love baseball.
