sup guys...i jsut came across this game that i found about a year ago and finally decided to give it a shot...its called Project Entropia and while i havent installed it yet, i found that the in game currency operates on a real economy - this means that your moeny in game can be converted to REAL money, so essentially, you can make money by playing! One guy just bought and island in the game for something to the tune of 26k! wow..i cant wait to start playing...

I've played it for a while. It is pretty much impossible to profit in the game. Some people claim to earn money from the game but that is after investing hundreds in it.

It is possible to earn money without putting anything in but it takes hours upon hours of "sweating" animals and selling that sweat.

The game is pretty fun, but I wouldn't play it with the intention of profiting.
 
These people are giving money away? In order to implement the game (development all the way to servers) they need some capital - so beyond that, they are giving $$?

Of course, there was this little tidbit...

"The Gold Member Smartcard and Gold Member portable reader only costs 200 PED ($20 US), including world-wide shipping! A low price for the safety of your account."
 
Yeah, I've heard of this game. A lot of magazines covered it when the guy bought the virtual island for $26,500. I always heard of the game, but I automatically decided it was a scam until someone actually paid that much.
 
ive heard about this. companies pay you like $0.40 an hour to play and make rpg money for them. its pretty much impossible to be profitable doing this unless youre home 24/7 with no job or friends. stay away from mmorpgs. theyre the devil.
 
like you said, it seems like there will be a LOT of work involved to EARN money, but i dont neccesarily think you need to put money in to play, do you? bcause to me, the game itself looks pretty cool and id like to try it...would anyone recommend playing?

theres companies that pay people to play WoW, so if youre interested in WoW you could try and look them up. if you do try it dont be a slave to the game.

ive never heard of this game in my life.
 
Um, can you steal peoples stuff and sell it?

If so, that would be an awesome way to make some money to buy some games and an mp3 player.

Could I just kill people and take their houses and money?
 
this seems like the kind of game that people would hunt you down and kill you over...in real life...but i read that there are PVP sections so...maybe?
 
There is no way you can lose your possessions in the game, which is kinda good since they are worth real money. If you die, you restart at the nearest town and you keep everything. You aren't required to pay anything, you can play completely free, but it will take you a lot longer. I don't play many MMORPGs so I can't compare it but it is somewhat fun if you are new to MMORPGs. From what I have heard, there are much better ones out there, but as far as free ones go, this is probably one of the better ones.

One thing I like is the "land grab" events they have. Its basically an all out war between clans, or "societies", for pieces of land. I was at the first land grab for a while (the whole thing lasted for 12 hours, but I only stayed for 1 hour). If your society wins a piece of land, you control until the next land grab, and you can tax people who mine and hunt on your grounds. I believe you can build apartments and rent them out for money too. There is a lot you can do in the game and they are always updating. Its been a while since I have played so it has probably changed a lot. I'd recommend giving it a try seeing as how it is free. If you do decide to invest, you can invest as much as you want. $1 will get you $10 PED (project entropia dollars).
 
Isn't this illegal?

I'm fairly certain it violates the anti-ponzi scheme laws (thousands invest money... only 2 or 3 see any return).
