Hey guys, I was originally hoping that the Wii would be bundled with a game most likely mario.. but too bad I have not heard anything concerning the pricing situation/ bundling.

I just saw at another forum someone talking about just preordering the new mario game for wii... so is there confirmation that it won't be packed in?

Eh... it is probably just wishful thinking to think that they would have such an attractive price with a game on top of it

i read on another page nintendo didnt tell the price cause they want to try to get it down. I have heard 350 bucks.

what is below

xbox 400
ps2 600

I dont think i would pick it up if it goes higher then 250

No confirmation on that. Stores are just putting placeholder things up just in case. Super Mario Galaxy is listed as $60 at Gamestop, but Nintendo has said that first party games won't cost that much.

I doubt any game will be bundled at launch. See the N64 and gamecube. If I get even $20 off retail by buying some store bundle with several games from costco, cc, or bestbuy, I'll be happy.

Yeah, when WAS the last system that came bundled with a game at launch? SNES?

Didn't the N64? I entirely forget.

I can almost guarantee the Wii Sports title will be bundled with the console. It's more like a tech demo than a game, even--just something to show what the controller is capable of.
If I'm wrong, I'll be shocked. At the very least, it will be a budget title--why wouldn't they just include it? With all this talk of appealing to non-gamers, they'd be foolish not to. Newcomers are satisfied with the ability to play right out of the box, and everyone else treats it as a "free game."

Nope. Mario 64 and Pilotwings were the only launch titles. $59.99 for Mario 64, IIRC.

Not that those were bad games, but da-yum what a sorry launch lineup.

If Nintendo wants to market this as a "For Everyone" system, they should do things like the old school days bundle:

System
2 Controllers
1-2 games

Wiis would fly off the shelves like bats out of hell.
I'm still betting on $249 with two controllers and the Wii Sports title.
You know, after seeing the video of the Wii Sports I had the same thought - it just doesn't look like a full-fledged game (graphically in particular). Now, sure, they could enhance it between now and launch. But the fact that there are 3 games in there showing a wide range of use for the Wiimote + the rather generic look points to this being a very real possibility. I think that would be great. Here's to hoping for $250 + Wii Sports!

Though I think Sony might have screwed us over. Nintendo probably intended to come out at $200 or $250 when everyone thought the PS3 would be priced like the 360. Now that Sony has priced the PS3 so high, Nintendo may be rethinking their pricing and come out at $300+. I really hope not though.

My thoughts exactly. A pack-in of WiiSports and a free VC download or two will look really nice.

Hopefully Nintendo is as smart as we are and realize that the 360 will have a price drop at least not far past the next holiday season. So regardless of the PS3 pricing, they need to keep tabs on that.

Unless they plan on launching JPN and US versions at different price points and/or issuing a really quick price drop as soon as the 360 does, which would be kinda silly for as short of a time as that would probably be.

I haven't really been keeping tabs on the Xbox360 potential price drop. But maybe they don't need to do that now that Sony has announced such high prices? I thought that the potential drop was under the assumption that the PS3 would be competetively priced. And let's not get into the whole PS3 has blu-ray vs $200 HD-DVD add on for Xbox 360. Most people will see the Xbox as a better deal for a while anyway.
