But here's the thing: Sony wasn't the first company to make a camera for games, it was nintendo with the GB camera. Sure it was not nearly as good as eyetoy but still Nintendo thought it up first. What about connectivity? People said that was a gimmick but Sony is doing with PSP. People fail to see the other side of the argument. So please if you are going to make a argument, at least make sure it is intellegently thoguht out and valid.
Now, I must admit that I love Nintendo, but this seems to have turned into undue Nintendo bashing. Cracka, you said that Nintendo was all about gimmicks. I bet that if Nintendo was the first to come out with the EyeToy dealy you would claim its a gimmick, but since Sony came up with it, it must be the work of the God. Now, I will admit that it Nintendo is trying to play catch up, with the camera thing. And the microphone idea? That is just stupid. How easy would it be to screw someone else over, by just yelling a lot or something.
if sony came out with a bunch of pretty much so pointless things but hyped them up, then i would call them gimmicky too..
whereas nintendo makes a bunch of pointless things, and hypes them up.
an example of this would be GBA SP.... was that not hyped up way more than it should've been? yea it looks cool, but was it really needed? no..
nintendo knows that alot of people play mario party, so what would be better than making it where you have to have another peripheral to play it? Nintendo then makes money off the new peripheral, and the game, when they could've easily just made it use a regular controller.
now they're making the Nintendo DS.. another pretty much so pointless handheld.. its basically a GBA with an extra screen stuck on which isnt really needed, but looks ground breaking and makes a great gimmick.
they also seem to like making some games where the GBA is required to access certain parts of the game. By doing that, they may boost GBA sales.
also there was the E-Reader... another peripheral that i remember being fairly hyped up. what did it do? it let you play a couple of crappy games! how? oh you had to pay an extra $5 for a card that had the game on it..
then there was the gameboy player.. i myself think the gameboy player is kinda cool, and i want one, but it also seems kinda gimmicky. Its not as gimmicky as the others, because playing Gameboy games on your tv is kinda cool.
So please if you are going to make a argument, at least make sure it is intellegently thoguht out and valid.
i believe my argument was quite thought out and valid.
