I just shit myself about 30 minutes ago when I saw Mass Effect in stock at my local Fred Meyer (Burlington, WA). Just wanted to give folks a heads up - I picked up a copy and I'm sure there are other Fred Meyers around the country that may have it in stock.

Bellingam, WA Fred meyer 5:45pm- No Mass effect. I appreciate the heads up Rudy. Asked young sales guy if any in back, spouted off the company policy of no games in the back, what you see is what you get. Likely B.S. as it had to be the same Semi that delievered the load in burlington, which then drives up I-5 to B'ham. Guess I'll have to wait on Lion games.
 
I've never shit myself over finding a game...maybe over a bowl of Super Colon Blow...but not a game.

But great find OP! I can't wait to get this game. I'll probably poop myself as well when I do.
 
Thanks for the heads up, but I called most of the Fred Meyer's in the Portland Metropolitan area and no early Mass Effect for me.

Fred Meyer's is one of my favorite places to pick up games though. Because nobody ever goes there, games never get sold, so I never have to worry about a game selling out and never getting restocked like I would at Best Buy/Target. I can just wait until I can afford it, because it will still be there five months after release, even if its an obscure/niche title.

I'm from the same area. My dad ended up getting my PS2 at a local FM for Christmas back when it first came out. I ended up following his steps (kinda) and was able to snag a Wii during the Christmas season last year at the same FM.
 
My local store was just remodeled and they sent out a coupon for $10 off $50 or $25 off $100

(says only valid at Newly Remodeled North Salem Fred Meyer Store)
 
A friend of mine's mom works in the jewelery dept at the Burlington Fred Meyer.
She knows the electronics manager pretty well and gets all the releases for her son. I'm gonna run up there tomorrow and check to see if they have any more.

I already payed off my Liongames copy, but I'll just return that one to Freddies.
 
haha, its 5 30 am and im going to take a 40 mile trip to go get this game at this hour just coming off work. I had a boring night and need a pick me up emotionally.
 
Hmmm... My Fred Meyer has a pretty big electronics section, but the employees there are just about always grumpy. I'll check it out, but they've never had a release early before. I'm betting that somebody new up there just screwed up and this is an isolated incident. Of course I hope I'm wrong and I can get Mass Effect today!
 
Just called Fred Meyer in Auburn. They confirm that they have it in stock, but they won't sell it to be because of the street date.

When I went in and asked for it, the guy said he had just put those out (probably within the last 30 minutes). I struck up a conversation about how his day was going in hopes that he'd ignore the DO NOT SELL UNTIL 11-20-07 sticker on the top of the box.

He scanned it and my hands shook as I swiped my credit card because I thought he was going to tell me he couldn't sell it to me. Needless to say, I nearly sprinted out the door.

This was probably an isolated incident, but it's worth a shot to see if another employee accidentally stocked the game early.
 
They have them in the Kent and Renton (benson hill) stores but wouldn't sell. Almost got one of them to sell but the inventory guy was nearby, asked him, and told him he couldn't sell.

I tried the Burnside one in Portland and got somewhat close. I asked the guy if they had it, he checked the computer, it said they did, so he unlocked the storage where they keep their overstock, but sadly it wasn't there. He said the only reason it wouldn't be there is if it were not to be sold yet. Though strangely, he did say the computer showed a release date of 11/18, so maybe you can get it a bit early there after all.

Good for you. They had a ton of copies on Thursday night when I picked up mine. I'm going to that FM for all my broken street dates!

Heh yeah I didn't even ask, I figured they've been asked enough and if they were selling, then it'd be on the shelf. Kinda sucks was hoping to use that $10 off coupon.
