Maurice Sendak Died May 8th 2012

I only just now remembered seeing it on the news once early in the am yesterday but I haven't heard much else since. Damn shame considering how great his books are and how many generations of kids love them myself included.

He was 83, nothing wrong with that. He lived a good long life.

The guy had guts as an author. He didn't really consider himself a children's author, and in the past some more conservative folks didn't feel all his work was even appropriate for children.

Loved his book Where The Wild Things Are. Was always a childhood favorite. The illustrations were great.

However I wasn't a fan of the movie. Maybe I'm just dense and didn't get the movie.... but for me it was a snoozefest and didn't capture any part of my imagination like the books... although the characters were cool (apperance wise)
