first off it looks like Best buy dropped out of the promo and TRU has gone into it. Now before getting too happy about some are saying there is a limit

LIMIT 5 TRU Bucks per item

seems the guaranteed items suck this year as well. There are now no longer any single win online prizes. just collect and win online

Guaranteed Bonus Game Pieces include Toys'R'Us Bucks, Foot Locker offers, instant win prizes or mobile downloads. Guaranteed Bonus Game Pieces are available on specially-marked Large French Fry boxes, Premium Chicken Sandwich boxes and 3-piece and 5-piece Chicken Selects boxes in the U.S.

Got to wait and see what those Instant win prizes will be (probally food???)

not worth risking 82 cent per entry this year. unless some major news is dropped in the next couple weeks

only way i risk the cash if there was major food prizes (1 in 2 wins something BIG)

Last year, it didn't say "handwritten" - this year it does.

There's no way around it this year - handwriting is the way to go:
Requests that are sent in business reply envelopes, that utilize address labels or stickers, that are photocopied, hand-stamped, computer-generated or otherwise mechanically produced or reproduced, that are not mailed in separate outer mailing envelopes, or that otherwise fail to comply with these Official Rules will NOT be honored, acknowledged or returned, and the persons submitting such requests will forfeit any corresponding postage and unused envelopes

so if you have hand problems and cant write you cant enter this contest Expect a major lawsuit there

man this game hasnt been exciting to play since the 80's whats worse they never say who the fuck won the major prizes and most fo the time you get saddled with lame small fry or small drink pieces and on a rare occasion a free apple pie that of course you can only go in and use one at a time. who the hell really eats at mcdonalds nowdays anyway ? the last good thing they had was the mcrib and that thing is shit now.

I have been hearing the past two years that Best Buy wanted out of this promo and a lot of people (myself included) suspected last year to be the last year BB was involved.

Check out the past couple years of the Contest board, where many people (again, myself included) have had problems redeeming BB Bucks.

I've done pretty well the past few years, between friends giving me BBBs they never planned on using and McD's employees who didn't care and would just hand out free BBBs, that I generally got a few games every year.

I'm not really a TRU person, so between that and the crappy(-er) prizes this year, this has fallen to a "meh" rating for me.

EDIT: It was probably the people double-dipping the BBBs online and in the store that killed it...

They could have easily taken care of the double dipping by making them either online or instore only, not both.

Best Buy did a poor job of informing management and employees about the rules which also didn't help. Almost everytime I tried to use the BBB to buy a game, I was told the limit was $3 on a game. Even last year where it clearly stated the limit did not apply to games, I still had to take the rules with me and show that part of the rules to a manager and they were always so surprised the rules "changed this year" even though there was never a limit of games.

Had there not been a limit of $5 at TRU, I still would have sent in 100+ requests

if you can find the post on fatwallet last year , i was telling people last year was the last year for Best buy but couldnt prove it. Manager told me they wanted out in 2005 but had one year left on a contract with mcondalds

That is why only 1 and 5 buck last year

would kicked ass if they teamed with amazon but then amazon dont need the hype.

it wasnt the double dipping that killed the promo. It was the hassle and i guess some people were coming in around thanksgivng and buying up alot of stuff with coupons instead of making real cash.

the promo really never worked out for best buy. best buy didnt get the turn around they thought they would get

person walks in with some best buy bucks and spends then and extra cash they though

instead people were just walking in with best buy bucks and walking out with free items

i know some people who have either major hand problems or cant write longer then 5 -10 mins without major hand pains. Look at all the people who have lost a hand or have major nerve damage done to their hands. Or a birth problem that effected their hands. Mcdonalds has said they are not allowed to play so expect a major problems

hell mcdonalds got sued last year from people who lived in vermont but didnt get their stamps back (by the way mcdonalds settled all the suits without going to court cause they knew they was wrong)

i might do some just to see if i can win a free dowload game

Actually, Slide, it might have been you I heard from in 05. (Too lazy to check...)

I was mostly kidding about the double dipping. And I know I walked out with a ton of free games, especially since they had that big clearance in '05 right around the same time.

And last year was the worst last year - I had more fights with the managers (even had to BB Corporate while at the check-out) last year, even though the rules were not vague like previous years.

I'm curious about the hand writing thing, myself. I find it hard to believe some a "loop hole" made it past the lawyers...
"What about comatose people who can't write or electronically reproduce entries?!?"

Any such lawsuit will go nowhere.
im sure if there was a lawsuit it go like this

lawyers get 50 million dollars everyone in the classaction suit gets a free big sandwich LOL

If you watch their ads with any eye for subtext, it's pretty clear that McDonalds is only targeting complete fucking morons and dipshits*, as even moderately educated people bailed on them years ago.

I think the fact that they really didn't want people to know that they owned (or still own?) Chipotle says how self-aware they are of their position in the 21st century.

*--I could also say stoneriffic college students and the 'low-rent' crowd, but that would invariably make at least a half-dozen people get all knee-jerk indignant.

i have always liked mcdonald's blockbuster, but this one sucks.. thx god.. I won't be wasting money on this year.
