MCV: Wii £149 (UK), launched on or before Nov 24

Once again, pure speculation.

Good news about the supply, though--I've had mine preordered since May just in case of supply shortages in the U.S.--looks like that won't be the case.
 
I wouldn't count on that release date either. There's no reason for Nintendo to release the Wii after the PS3 here. November 24 is fine in UK since there is now zero competition from the PS3 for the rest of 06.

Remember also that November 24 is "Black Friday." I'd be surprised if Nintendo went for the "Black Friday" release here--one reason being that they said they would release before PS3 and another being that they have traditionally released their consoles on a Sunday.
 
Didn't Nintendo say they would release the Wii in all the zones within several weeks? I'm pretty sure that Nintendo will release the system sooner in Japan and America and then a few weeks later in Europe.

Nintendo UK boss David Yarnton has told GamesIndustry.biz that reports the Wii will retail for GBP 149 and will be in shops shortly before November 24 are "definitely not right".

The claims, which appeared in an article by trade publication MCV, are "only speculation, and definitely not fact," according to Yarnton.

"They're not far off, but they're definitely not right," he told GI.biz.

I just want to point out this is obviously talk about the UK territory, meaning 11/24 is some ...what, 4 months before PS3 release?

11/24 isn't Black Friday in the UK, as they don't celebrate Thanksgiving.

Additionally, others said it would "be after the PS3 launch."

I don't give away cookies to the cockslapped.
 
nintendo would be STUPID to release this game on Black friday. Many stores would tell nintendo to go fuck themselves. Do you think the people at best buy want 1000 people in line the day after thanksgiving trying to get 300 WII making other people who might buy more stuff Pass the store buy cause


There is no way in hell im standing in that long line.


I remember when the rumors were the xbox 360 was going to come out on black friday and i was told by many Best buy workers if that was they case , They would not sell them until saturday. I doubt you will ever see a system released on black friday
