YES! After the worst. decision. ever., Capcom has decided to redeem themselves by giving the Cube version of MMX Collection configurable controls! Also, both the GC and PS2 versions will have new dubbing done on X4 and X6, with the rest being considered for it. Linkage:

Backwards no more!

(they still should've recalled the original collection and fixed it though)
Maybe as a preorder bonus. ;)

Well, I am ready to crap myself. I love the X series so I was happy enough when my wish of and MMX collection came true. But this is too much, but honestly I am pysched! I don't really know how it could get any better (maybe throwing in MM Legends 1/2 as well?).

hows MMAC on the xbox anyone?

Well this is good news, though I won't challenge them to find a way to screw it up.

I wonder if they'll ever throw in MM soccer as an added game, I've never played it but it looked kinda neat back in the day.

It was a fun soccer game all by itself, but the Mega Man factor really put it over the top.

This game isn't even coming to GameCube. What are you talking about?

Capcom to go back and rework audio for compilation.

When it comes to the second nostalgic collection of Mega Man games, Capcom appears to be taking fan requests to heart. The publisher is actually going back and redubbing Mega Man X4, dubbing Mega Man X6 in English and considering several other options with voice acting company Ocean Group, reports Mega Man Network.

The site also reports dubbing for Mega Man X5 is being considered, with the publisher also considering the first three games, too, depending on fan feedback to the idea. Representatives have also stated that any additional dubbing will be easily turned off by players, if they desire.

The previous compilation, Mega Man Anniversary Collection, was developed by US developer Atomic Planet, and received backlash from fans over control and music issues.

Mega Man X Collection, set for release later this year on Xbox and PlayStation 2, is in development at Capcom's internal studios in Japan.
Yeah, no.

Maybe you should tell Nintendo. http://www.nintendo.com/gamemini?gameid=2cf5316d-2761-4126-99fc-d76d803f653f&

Interestingly enough, other places were reporting it only being released for PS2 and Gamecube, like Gamespot. Mega Man X Collection isn't even listed as a game for the Xbox on 1up.

With the Mega Man series continually growing, Capcom will release the Mega Man X Collection to let both new and old fans of the series experience some of the earliest Mega Man games, dating back to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the first PlayStation. But perhaps the hallmark of this collection is Mega Man Battle and Chase, a PlayStation game that was never released in the United States.

As a piece of video game history, the Mega Man X collection traces the franchise's evolution from the 16-bit days to 32-bit systems. As always, you'll have the fun of playing Mega Man and partners Zero and Dr. Light as they thwart the evil Sigma and his army of renegade reploids. To give you a bit of incentive beyond that of saving the world, you can also unlock bonus features and artwork.

Mega Man X Collection will ship for the GameCube and PlayStation this fall.

Edited to add disclaimer: If there was sarcasm that I didn't detect... then my bad.

Also, back on topic, reconfigurable controls are happy :)

I figured that the link at the top would probably answer that question, yet for God knows what reason this computer is against links for some unknown reason.

Anyway I think that's no good at all... no X7 or X8, kind of fails to complete the collection doesn't it? Even though those were both released as ps2 titles, I'd be willing to bet Capcom could've squeezed at least one of them on the Collection.

Oughta do 'yer homework, bud.

Anyone sitting on megaman x3 or x2 should probably sell it if they don't really care, you can make a nice chunk of change and just buy it when it comes out in the collection. I have both, but I'd rather keep them though.
The reverse controls didn't bother me after a few minutes in MMAC but I'm glad to hear Capcom is having control options this time around.
This is an opinion I haven't heard very often ... I really want to get the first collection, but the control complaints are what have kept me from making the jump.

I second that the controls didn't bother me after a few minutes, and this is coming from someone whose first non-pack-in game for the NES was Mega Man 2. It's my favorite series, and I find it pretty much as good on the Cube. That being said, if I had a PS2, I would buy it on there instead just to avoid any confusion, but I've been nothing but pleased with MMAC.

BUY IT! IT'S SO DAMN CHEAP!

Ever heard of a simple word called "typo"?

Yeah, no.

BTW what's up with all these "reverse" controls complaint? I'm guessing B is jump and A is hot, right? if that's the case it wouldn't be that bad, hell it might even come off better on the CUbe controller.

u'd think it wasnt that bad but i've died many times pushing the wrong button to jump, and thats after playing for couple of hours thinking i was used to the buttons

This game rocks my socks more than the first one did.

2-D platformers pwn.
