Anyone else encountered the DS lite cable melting while charging the DS Lite? I have had it for almost 2 weeks now. Purchased it new from gamestop. And started charging it earlier tonight and came back... the cable was melted. Going back to the store tommorrow to request a new DS LITE.... should I also request a new copy of Super Mario... as the game was in the unit as it charged.....

The battery on my DSL heats up quite a bit during charging, but even if the DS is laying right on top of the cable while charging I'd be skeptical about it melting (if I were a GameStop clerk that is). Even if the cable did melt, how would it affect the game card inside?

I don't see any reason to get a new copy of New Super Mario if it still works. For that matter, if they're willing to simply swap out the power adapter, I'd do that. Why risk getting a Lite that has one of the various problems people have come across?
Unless you truly believe the Lite caused the problem, but that seems unlikely.
