Menard's $2.99 PC software sale

tickdude

CAGiversary!
Yeah, it's a hardware store in the northcentral states. And they do carry video games (weird).

They had some titles for $2.99:

Tron 2.0
Master of Orion II
Master of Orion III
Casino Empire
Victoria: An Empire Under The Sun
Magic: The Gathering - Battlegrounds

Some of these may not be worth $2.99 to you (esp. the bottom 4), but what the hey.

The sale runs until Dec. 24. They also had DVD's and handheld games on sale.

Master of Orion II was an amazing game back in the day. Not sure how well it holds up today...but for $2.99 it may be worth a shot for those who've never played it.

A few weeks ago they had all PC software for $3.00 and you could get a mail in rebate for $3 per title (up to 5 per rebate) making them free.
I think they do this every few months, if not more often.
The only downside is that the rebate is only good towards future purchases at Menards.

The Menards stores around here didn't get any console games in for this year's holiday season. This probably because it took them until October to get rid of the stuff they had left over from last year's Black Friday and holiday sales.

Anyone who hasn't played MOO2 and refuses to drop 3 bucks on it should be hit in the testicles.

Anyone who hasn't played MOO3 and refuses to drop 3 bucks on it is a smart person.
Tron's a steal for 2.99
For once, I 100% agree with Scorch. Tron 2.0 rocks and for under $3 you can't go wrong.

For the love of god-

if you are in the area- run, nay, TELEPORT over and buy TRON & Master Of Orion II. (not 3- I own both and Orion 2 is still the best). You can custom build all of your ships, colony management is simple stupid with enough complexity to keep it interesting, hero units for ships & planets. Buy it now-its freaking great- and it works in XP.

I've picked up both of these a month or so again when they had the less $2.99 rebates (Free).
Tron 2.0
Master of Orion III

I've also picked up over the last two months:
Icewind Dale (II I believe)
Mynopoly Tycoon
Conspiracies (A cool adventure game if you don't mind FMV)

Unfortunately no Tron 2.0 at the Oak Creek (Milwaukee) Menards. They had Master of Orion 2 & 3, many copies of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and an assortment of other titles I didn't care that much about.

Fortunately, I was able to come up with another surprise addition to the $2.99 list:

Freedom Force!
(Don't bother going to that Menards to look for it, I grabbed the last one!)

They had freedom force at my Menards, is it worth 3 bux?

Thanks OP. Didn't find Tron, but I did end up with quite a few games. The noteworthy ones are:

Shadow Watch
O.R.B.
Master of Orion II
Big Rigs

...

That's right, I bought Big Rigs, just so that I can say that I own what many consider to be the worst game ever made. :D

I just got back from Menards in Springfield, Ill. I got the following:

Freedom Force
Missile Command
Tron 2.0
And my grand find ...............Perimeter

Also they had tons of Master of orion 3 but no 2, So I didnt get 3 based on what I have heard here.

I'm planning on dropping by our local Menards this afternoon. I can't find my old copy of MOO2, so I'll try to pick up another one of those and maybe a few others.

Thanks for the info, OP.
