Yes i posted this in the PS3 Metal Gear section. I wanted more people to see this incredible looking new headset !!! I'd wear it everywhere !!!
*Update* This is A coin-op type arcade unit. I was excited that it was A home console version :(
Metal Gear Arcade, which has been sneaking under the radar since its unveiling last June, is playable at Japan's AOU Expo this week. To mark the occasion, Konami has released a new trailer and two new screenshots of the Metal Gear Online–based arcade cabinet. The trailer is available on the game's website.

Konami has also provided a first look at the 3D glasses used to enable the game's "Integral Vision" effect. It's going to be totally worth putting on those goofy glasses, even after some sweaty guy just used them: not only do they create a 3D effect, the glasses also enable head-tracking. Where you look, Snake looks. To further immerse you in the experience, Metal Gear Arcade also has a mic for voice chat and a giant speaker system surrounding your head. !.

This shit is awesome. I hope this rejuvenates arcades. I don't see this being available at home for a while. Then again, what do I know?

Dont think its coming out in america. If it did Im sure it will cost a dollar and not attract many except the fans of metal gear.

At this point though I dont think arcades will ever be revived. Sega has tried to with their amusement park sized indoor arcades, gameworks tried it with the arcade/restaraunt franchise and every year they get smaller and smaller.

No ones wants to go to an arcade and pay 50 cents or a dollar to play a game you can buy, take home and play all you want. Even the aspect of playing against others in a arcade died when multiplayer online went mainstream for consoles.

I miss arcades desperately from my child hood. Used a bar type place with a game room I used to ride my bike to after I snuck out when I was 7 or 8 and the guys that hung out there would play against me and the owner would bring me a stool and free coke. Place smelled like stale popcorn and cigarette smoke hung in the air creating a mist with the sounds of the pac mans, asteroids and battlezones playing their sound effects. I miss that place.

Head tracking is coming to consoles too with PS Eye & Natal. Expect to see it first in GT 5 and possibly PGR 5.

I think cool goggles and a gun will attract a lot of people.

They just really need to hammer out the accuracy in this version's implementation of Metal Gear Online. I hated MGO with MGS4. I unloaded an entire clip at point blank range into somebody, and right after I exhausted my bullets, the other guy whipped out a pistol and killed me in one shot. Never played MGO again.

The MGS3 version was decent, though.

There's only one thing missing from that picture Strell: a bottle of aspirin or other painkiller for the massive headache you have after playing the Virtual Boy.

This always angers me because I never got headaches or any of the stereotyped things people like to diss the Virtual Boy for. Still one of my fav systems, but I wouldn't say that if I paid $180 for it. BBV!
