i'm actually pretty surprised i haven't seen this on the forums

they announced that the Metal Gear Solid live-action movie is in developement over at Sony Pictures. Kojima sold over the rights to Sony and will be taking an executive producer role.

so the great debate between the fanboys begins: who should be cast as solid snake?

Personally I HATE people's choice of fairy boy Hugh Jackman. To me, the perfect choice would be Sean Bean.

wow! i just did a google search for sean bean and he definitely has a similar resemblance to snake, especially in pics with long hair!

You know they have talked about this for a while but I don't think it's going to live up to the game's reputation. I'm interested.
Why live-action? Why not just make the whole movie CGI and keep the voice actors?
EDIT: AHHHH WTF, BOBO you beat me to it!!!!!!!!!

EGM had a little blurb that lots of video games are going to be put out as movies as a way for publishers to help recoup part of the massive dev costs of the current gen systems. But isn't it pretty much just as hard to make big money on a movie as it is on a video game? Kind of had me scratching my head. (Unless the video game people are just going to license the IPs to studios who will take on all of the risk of the movie flopping I guess.)
