i'm kinda in the mood for an espionage game. i'm not sure if i should go with mgs3 or wait for chaos theory. i love the mgs gameplay and stories but i'm kind of a graphics whore so that keeps chaos theory in the running. or is there a better game out there i'm overlooking?

Why not get both? MGS 3 can be found at EBgames.com for $33.74, and then you can play it now and finish it by the time SC:CT arrives, and save up cash for then. Thats what I would do. It doesn't have to be an either or situation.

You are joking, right? Chaos Theory looks amazing. The rain effects and all the new features they added look outstanding
that said, get MGS3. The game is amazing, and will keep you occupied for at least two playthroughs

i'm too cheap to get both and i have so many games as it is, two espionage games would be a handful. but you guys sold me on mgs3. although i may take advantage of the trade in 5 for chaos theory at eb. thanks guys!

Personally, I like the Splinter Cell series because that's where I started my espionage gaming. I actually just started playing MGS2 (yes, the old one), and it's pretty cool. Of course, having been used to Splinter Cell, it doesn't "feel quite right" yet.
I'm pretty amped for Chaos Theory, but I could also see going the MGS3 route once I finish with MGS2.
MGS3 looks to be one of the year's best titles. You definitely can't go wrong picking that up... for $34, it's a steal!

i do miss fun boss fights. they just don't emphasize boss fights like they used to. what happened to the good ole days when you knew you've reached the end of the level when this badass boss was standing in front of you. ::sigh::

Why not get both...I dont have a ps2 but I would get MGS3 if I did... The new SC looks amazing...and Amon Tobin is doing to music so I HAVE to get it...I must support him in any way I can. He makes the most amazing music... Its like techno in a way but alot more complicated and actually takes talent...Im buying the soundtrack tomorrow.
