CAGiversary!

Welcome everyone to the official home of MLB 2K11 CAG League Baseball. It seems that 2K has made a fairly competent game this year, so hopefully we can all come together, play some games, have some fun, and get some enjoyment from a competitive baseball experience.

Details
* real rosters
* 8 teams (all in the same division)
* 10 game regular season with flex scheduling
* trades are on with a deadline (trades must be proposed in thread first)
* top 4 teams make playoffs
* playoffs are best of 3 series

*IMPORTANT - there will be a requirement of playing at least one game a week. You'll only be playing most teams once, so trying to schedule more than that could be difficult. Since we'll be using flex scheduling, you can play any opponent at any time. But there will be no excuses for not finding time to play one game every 7 days. If you can not adhere to this, please consider the time and efforts of your fellow CAGs and do not sign up.

* you will be expected to use your 5 man rotation. With a 10 game regular season, it's simple. Each starting pitcher should pitch 2 games. Hopefully this goes without saying, but you can't bring any of these guys in in relief either.

10/5/11 - Playoffs!

Now we're moving! The playoff matchups have been set! The four remaining teams need to post the three man starting rotation they will use. Let's try to get these games played in a week. Good luck to everyone!

Old News
10/4/11 - Let's Finish This!
The only remaining games are "the game that won't die" of Texas vs Colorado (not sure if moojuice wants to make another attempt at that game). And I guess Atlanta vs Tampa Bay. I know you guys had trouble connecting before, but Jstryke is hoping that his library's rejuvenated connection might help things. As luck would have it, that game is essentially a one game playoff for the final spot in the postseason. I've mostly got the Cincinnati games figured out, but the outcome of that game will affect the various tiebreakers.

Here's the current standings and games remaining

Philadelphia: 7-1 (2 vs CIN)
Texas: 6-3 (1 vs COL)
Milwaukee: 5-4 (1 vs CIN)
Atlanta: 4-4 (1 vs TB, 1 vs CIN)
Tampa Bay: 4-3 (1 vs TB, 2 vs CIN)
Chicago: 2-7 (1 vs CIN)
Colorado: 1-6 (2 vs CIN)
Cincinatti: 0-1 (lotso games)

At this point, Philadelphia has the top seed no matter what. So they'll get both wins against CIN.

Milwaukee will get a win against CIN, creating a potential tie for the #2 spot if Texas loses to Colorado.

If Atlanta beats Tampa Bay, Atlanta will get a win over CIN, tying them with Milwaukee (and possibly Texas) and Tampa Bay will get 1 win and 1 loss vs CIN.

If Tampa Bay beats Atlanta, the assigned wins will still be the same, but TB will end up tied with Milwaukee (and possibly Texas),

Still with me? haha :)

Chicago will get 1 win vs CIN.

And Colorado will get 1 win and 1 loss vs CIN.

This should preserve the standings exactly as they are now (pending the remaining user games).

9/12/11 - Final Regular Season Games
I know people have been trying to play this past week and some progress has been made. I appreciate the effort. It seems jza1218 and Jstryke just can't connect...which is actually kind of ironic considering that was our season one World Series matchup. I don't want to do anything with the outstanding games against the Reds until the rest of the games have been played.

Honestly, whoever qualifies for the playoffs before those games are factored in is who should make it, so that will probably influence the ruling on those games. But anyway, let's try to get these final games played this week, so we can move on to the playoffs and wrap this thing up. With NFL and NHL about to be in full swing, there's probably not much time left for baseball.

8/29/11 - Week Seven/Eight Recap
Man, it's hard to believe how much we've been screwed up by the league website being taken down, but my guess is most people just forget who they haven't played yet, and looking it up is now a pain. Hopefully we can get a list compiled and get ourselves back on track. I definitely want to see us finish this season.

8/18/11 - Week Five/Six Recap
Thanks for bearing with me through the move, guys. But now that I'm settled into my apartment, it seems the 2K website is acting screwy. I'll have to load up the game later to see how many games everybody has played and what we have left. But just keep trying to get games played, and we'll make it to the finish. I hate that we haven't been able to find a replacement for pitfallharry, but it appears our options are going to be giving the 3 teams scheduled to play him twice both wins, split the games 1-1, OR just drop him from the league and let the game handle it however it wants. Feel free to voice your opinions on that one.

8/1/11 - Week Four Recap
All right, I think the league website has fixed itself, so according to that, we've got two teams that are a little behind the pace. The Phillies and White Sox seem to have only played three games. It's not a big deal, because as I said, my availability itself is probably going to be all over the place for the next month or so. I was fortunate to be able to play three games yesterday to get caught up, so as long as everybody keeps trying to get games in, we'll be fine.

I'm also hoping we can find a replacement for pitfallharry, since it really wouldn't be fair to just give everybody wins against him since there are three teams who play him twice. I have the option of just dropping him from the league, but I don't know if that would just remove all of his games from the schedule or just give everybody wins anyway. Definitely something to figure out.

7/26/11 - Week Two/Three Recap
Well, we're in a bit of a crazy period right now. We lost one player from the league thanks to a dog and cat fighting over a piece of bacon. And I'm the only person in the league who is lagging behind (due to trying to find a new place to live). Everybody else has done a great job playing their games though. Just keep it up and hopefully things will settle down over the next couple weeks.

7/13/11 - Week One Recap
Well, it took a couple extra days (which I kind of expected it would since we had about a month off), but everybody got their first game played! Good job with that, everyone. Looks like a lot of crazy games right out of the gate. A few teams putting up some really big numbers. Definitely going to be a wild ride to the playoffs!

7/4/11 - Season 2 Schedule Generated! Play Ball!!!
All right, the schedule has been generated and games are ready to be played. Let's shoot for everybody having one game played by Monday 7/11. The biggest advantage I could think of to having one large division is that the teams with the best four records would make the playoffs, and we wouldn't run into an issue of the #3 team in one division being better than the #2 team in the other division. So, I'm fine with having one if everyone else is.

What about posting our pitching rotations? Necessary or no? I do want to remind everyone that each starter should pitch no more than 2 games. And remember, the HOME team should press start to go into the lineup screen so nobody gets screwed into locking their lineup in by mistake. Other than that, I think we're good to go. If anyone has any trade offers, feel free to post them in the thread.

Good luck to everybody!

Standings
standings_09.jpg

6/10/11 - New York Mets: World Series Champs!
Congratulations to the New York Mets on winning the first MLB 2K11 CAG League Baseball Championship! In a battle of two underdogs, the Mets found themselves down 0-1 in the series, and trailed game 2 by a score of 4-2 going into the 9th inning. A string of hits, capped by a Jose Reyes single brought them within one.

On the brink of elimination and down to their final out, David Wright hit a ground ball in the hole between short and third. Wright beat out the throw to first and Scott Hairston scored from third to tie the game. The game remained locked at four until the 13th inning when a leadoff double by Angel Pagan led to an RBI grounder to third. Chris Young closed out the game to send the series back to Queens for the decisive third game.

The late game rally must have sparked the Mets for the final game, as their bats came out hot. New York held a 6-0 lead until the 7th inning when the Braves were finally able to put a run on the board. The Mets responded by scoring three more in the bottom of the 7th. This pattern was repeated again in the 8th inning, and the Mets ended up winning by a final score of 12-2. What a Series! Two blowouts sandwiched around a 13 inning nail biter. Congratulations again to the Mets!

6/6/11 - World Series
All right. We've moved on to the championship round. "Upsets" were pulled in both series, as the Braves and Mets eliminated the top two teams from the regular season. Like we've seen all season, anybody can beat anybody. I'm looking forward to seeing how this next series plays out and who will be our first MLB 2K11 CAGLB champion!

Once this series is completed, we can look ahead to season two. As of right now, there will be one available spot for a new person to sign up since chriscolbert won't be able to play. Whoever comes in and wants the spot (and actually seems serious about it) will get it.

5/26/11 - Week Nine Recap
Good job getting those games in Matt and Chris! Personally, I'm really impressed that every game this season was played pretty much on time. I know Chris got behind for a few days, but he caught back up pretty quick. And technically, we finished a week early. I hope everybody has enjoyed it so far. We could have had all 8 teams make the playoffs, but I figured that would render the regular season mostly pointless.

Playoffs series are a best of 3. So, I'm not sure if people will be able to get them done in one sitting, but hopefully we can still finish a series in one week. You must use at least 3 different starting pitchers in the series. I want to say your other 2 starters CAN be used as relievers if you want (since that's how most real teams would function), but without fatigue, I don't know how we should handle it (ie. your #4 starter probably shouldn't pitch the 6th & 7th inning in all 3 games). I'm open to suggestions on that one.

Season 2 should almost feel like a brand new game, with updated rosters and a full season with the new patch. People will be allowed to switch teams and we'll have to find a replacement for Chris, but we can discuss that more once the playoffs are closer to being over. Other than that, good luck to the final four teams as we search for our first MLB 2K11 CAGLB champion!

5/20/11 - Week Eight Recap
Once again, everybody met the minimum games requirement for this week, so good job on that! Right now, there are only 3 games left on the schedule, which are as follows:

chriscolbert (A) vs Matt Young (H)
chriscolbert (H) vs Matt Young (A)
jza1218 (A) vs theredworm (H)

Between all the playoff tie breakers and the new patch (which GREATLY changes the online timing), this league should have plenty of exciting things to come. Can't wait for the playoffs to start, crowning our first champion, and starting a brand new season with updated rosters!

5/13/11 - Week Seven Recap
All right. It looks like everybody got to seven games this week, so that's good! The playoff race is still really tight, with several tie breakers as people have already mentioned. There are five games total needing to be played, which are as follows:

chriscolbert (A) vs Matt Young (H)
chriscolbert (H) vs Matt Young (A)
chriscolbert (H) vs DarkTower80 (A)
jza1218 (A) vs theredworm (H)
jza1218 (H) vs n8rockerasu (A)

Let's try to get these games played as soon as possible. It would be awesome if we could finish up the regular season this week!

5/8/11 - Week Six Recap
Sorry, it took so long to post this update, but this has been an especially busy weekend for me. It looks like everyone is at least caught up with the minimum, which is good. Hopefully, we can all get ahead of the pace this week. I'm really happy we've been able to get this far with the original 8 guys though. That alone is an accomplishment. Keep up the good work, fellas!

4/29/11 - Week Five Recap
Not a bad week last week. Looks like a lot of games were played. chriscolbert has fallen behind the pace though and did not get his 5th game played. We need to see a little more effort from you, Chris. I'm not going to start with any hard enforcement of the deadlines yet, but if you stay behind the pace week and become the final person holding the league up, you could see some decisions made against you. I'd hate to do that because as it stands, you're in 1st place, and that would be a crappy way to lose the division lead.

Everybody else has 6 games played already and has met next week's minimum. It would be great if we could all get ahead so we could skip a game deadline (ie. go from 6 games to 8 games) to get things moving a little quicker. But without question, one game a week needs to be played. The playoff race is incredibly tight, with six teams within 1 game of each other in the standings, all of whom have played at least 7 games. These final games should be crazy!

4/20/11 - Week Four Recap
Posting this a day early since I'm going out of town. Everybody has played their fourth game already, so we're right on schedule. Keep up the great work, and make sure you only use each starting pitcher twice. If you accidentally lock in your line up before you can check it and don't have the guy pitching that you want, you CAN quit out of the game before the first pitch is thrown and it won't count (just explain to your opponent what you're doing). Again, the easiest way to avoid this is for the home team to always press "start" to enter the line up screen.

4/14/11 - Week Three Recap
Again, another great job by everyone making sure they got their 3rd game played on time this week. Most of us are still ahead of schedule, which is great. There's definitely a lot of jockeying going on in the standings as well, with no clear cut favorite. Should make for an interesting battle for the four playoff spots!

4/7/11 - Week Two Recap
Since everybody got their 2nd game played before the deadline, I thought I'd go ahead and throw this recap up early. Everybody did a great job finding time for their games. I'm hopeful that we can get ahead of the one game per week minimum, but there's definitely no requirement to do so. As long as we keep things moving, that's all that matters.

A little baseball PSA that I just want to throw out there - No one has any obligation to throw strikes in this game. I really don't understand why it's something people get upset about online, but it happens way more often than it should. As a hitter, it's your job to make your opponent throw strikes by being patient. If you're swinging at everything, I'd have to be crazy to throw you any strikes for fear that you might run into one and win the game. I think most everybody here probably gets that, but I just wanted to put it out there so there's no confusion or hard feelings. Other than that, keep up the great work, guys!

4/2/11 - Week One Recap
Good job to everyone getting their first game played on time. Several teams have gotten more than one game played, and that's great! Every team must have 2 games played by April 7th, but feel free to play ahead if you have the opportunity. The quicker we get through the regular season, the quicker we get to the playoffs, and the quicker we can start another season. Just remember you have to use your 5 man starting rotation. Each starting pitcher should pitch 2 games. Keep up the good work, guys!

3/24/11 - League Activated, Schedule Generated, Play Ball!!!
All right, guys. We are up and running! I just had the game generate a schedule and the way it works out is you play 3 opponents twice and everybody else once (8 teams - yourself = 7 teams + 3 rematches = 10 games). And in real flex scheduling fashion, you can play any of these games at any time. Let's just shoot for at least one game a week. This means everybody should have their first game played by Opening Day (3/31). On that note, PLAY BALL!!!

3/21/11 - League Created, Join and Select Your Team
I set up the league last night and started sending out invites. Feel free to join and select your team. We ended up going with a 10 game season (yes, it's short...but it's better than not finishing). 4 teams will make the playoffs (could have done all 8, but then what's the point of the regular season?). Playoffs are best of 3. Trades are on, but there is a trading deadline (post all trade proposals in here first). I think that's pretty much it. I just looked on the 2K league website, and it appears that even for 8 team leagues you just have one division. I guess that's all right, since it ensures that the top 4 teams will make the playoffs. I'm anxious to get started! If anyone has any questions, just let me know!

Here's the link to our league's webpage.
http://community.2ksports.com/commun....cfm?l=1108208

3/15/11 - Sign Ups, Opinions, Format
Taking a quick glance at the league set up, we have to have at least 4 teams. The next lowest option after that is 8 (after that it goes up in increments of 2). The season can be 10, 20, 52, 104, or 162 games. We CAN use flex scheduling (huge in my opinion), meaning you can play games in any order. We can choose to have either 4 or 8 teams make the playoffs. Playoff series can be a one game showdown or a best of 3, 5, or 7 games.

Another big decision is whether we want to do a fantasy draft or use real rosters. A fantasy draft would give the league a very customized feel and ensure that all teams are equal, but it also takes more time and commitment. Like I (n8rockerasu) said in the other thread, I want to be the Yankees and would prefer real rosters, but I'm cool with whatever the majority wants. There's also options to have trades on/off and whether or not to have a trading deadline. If we had trades on, we would handle it much like other leagues have, in that the trade proposal would need to be posted in here and be approved by the league before being finalized.

There are also some dumb options that I would be strongly against (strikes only, games less than 9 innings, not needing to warm up relievers, etc.), but it's always nice to have choices.

If anyone wants to voice their interest in playing and/or their opinions on the league format, feel free to do so. I doubt we'll get this thing rolling until around Opening Day anyway, just to give us enough time for everyone to get the game, get used to it, and for us to figure out how we want things set up. Should be a lot of fun though!

I'd say real rosters for sure. I'd be in for the Brewers.

As far as season length I'd vote at 10 or 20, longer and people will probably drop. Flex scheduling sounds really good too. I'd say playoffs best of 3.

I'd like in on this and agree that the shorter the season the better, at least to start with and if everyone sticks with it and has a blast then we could do another. As far as rosters go, it doesn't really matter to me whether it's real or fantasy, but I'm sure everyone can agree that it's hard to get everyone together for a draft. I would like to claim the Red Sox either way though since a) if I don't, someone else will, and b) I really suck at playing online and any help I can get from my roster the better ;))

I agree with both you guys on a shorter season. Probably the most successful league on CAG the last few years has been the Madden league. With football's nature of only having 16 games in a season, they've been able to get through multiple seasons. To me, that makes more sense than struggling to finish one 20 game season. If we fly through one 10 game season + playoffs, AWESOME! That would just mean we're ready for season two.

All right, well that gives us 3 teams. One more and we're official! haha

So far, we're looking at real rosters, 10 game season, best of 3 for playoffs, flex scheduling (duh). What about trades? Yay or nay? Also, what difficulty should we play on? The default is All-Star. And should we have a policy on analog controls?

As for teams, we've got

AL
n8rockerasu - New York Yankees
chriscolbert - Boston Red Sox

NL
theredworm - Milwaukee Brewers

Does the option for analog have to be set league-wide at the start or do you set it at the beginning of each game? I personally love it so I'm fine with it but I could certainly use the buttons if someone absolutely detested it. If it can be done on a game by game basis maybe just let whoever the home team is decide for that game?

I'm okay with All-Star or Veteran.

Rob, you should! My copy is arriving Friday, and Alan ordered the game as well.

Nate, I figured you'd be doing this and I'm glad you got the ball rolling. As far as the settings, here's my take:

10 game season
Best of 3 playoff series
Flex scheduling
Trades on

For analog controls and difficulty, I have no idea since I have only played the demo.

As far as teams go, I would strongly prefer to play as the White Sox, although I would be willing to play as the Dodgers if it is absolutely necessary in order to balance the AL and NL.

It's not anything that HAS to be decided from the beginning, but I kinda feel like we should make it a league-wide decision just so everything is fair. Personally, I also like the analog controls because they sort of represent an evolution of the gameplay and take some skill to use well. People in The Show thread were telling me that it shouldn't matter and just let people use whatever they want, but you'd have to be nuts to think it's not easier painting corners by pushing a button than by consistently replicating a motion with an analog stick. Maybe I'm wrong. But that's just my thought on it.
How would you play a second season since there is no online franchise? Just start over again?
Most likely (unless there's a "start new season" feature to just continue on that I'm unaware of). If we decide to allow trades, I guess we'd just have to repeat them before the start of a new season. Sure, it wouldn't give you things like player aging, but the game is playable...which is more than The Show can offer (very honest review I found over at PastaPadre which supports my point that The Show's online is largely unchanged: http://www.pastapadre.com/2011/03/10/mlb-11-the-show-online-impressions). It's kinda sad that we have to be satisfied with a game "just working", but it's better than nothing.

Also, glad to see Matt is on board.

One thing that I forgot to add is that there will be a requirement of playing one game a week. Most likely, you'll only be playing each team once, so trying to schedule more than that is unreasonable in my opinion. Since we'll be using flex scheduling, you can play any opponent at any time. But there will be no excuses for not finding time to play one game every 7 days.

As far as difficulty and controls I've just played the demo so no idea on that yet. My last baseball game was MVP 95 so I gotta get my shit together.

I noticed that Amazon was offering a $15 credit for purchasing this, so with my Amazon credits, the total came to $22, so I decided to take the plunge. Count me in for a league. I guess I'll take the *groan* Mets.

I should have it Friday, so hopefully I can grab an online game against someone over the weekend.

I don't have any amazon credit, but two questions. A) Does the credit ever expire and B) Any idea how long the credit is going on for? If I wanted, I could theoretically do it tonight, but I'd rather wait until I hit an ATM tomorrow just to see how much I have exactly since I did spend a good bit this week.

I think the credit expires in a year, but I'm not 100% sure. As for how long the credit is going on for, not sure.
Sign me up, I'll take the Rockies
I'm shocked! ;)

So that makes 4 members of the CAG hockey team. That's great for everyone since we have fun playing stuff together and we know everyone's reliable.

I haven't gotten any Amazon promo credit in awhile, but if it's like it used to be, I thought you only had a couple months to use it...and could only use it on other video game items. It's still useful, but kinda forces you to pick up another game fairly soon. I could be wrong though. It would be great if they've extended it.

Good to see Alan sign up too. I'm surprised Brandon hasn't popped in here yet. Cubs are still open too.

I just checked, my promo credit for Homefront expired on 3/31/12. But you're right about it only being for video games.

My pre-order credit for Bulletstorm stated that it was good for 1 year and was not limited to video games. The way things were in the past, it was maybe 3months and only could be used on video games.

I was thinking about this last night, are we planning on starting before Opening Day rosters are released? I was thinking that if we did, and went on to play a season 2, it would almost like having a rookie draft. Just a thought.

Yeah, it's not a bad idea. Just depends on when we feel like cutting off sign ups and when everyone feels ready to start. Right now we've got 7 guys, so we need one more to move past the basic 4 team league. I asked Brandon about joining last night but he said he wasn't sure how much he'll play the game online. Destro also seemed to have some interest, but I'm not sure if he's going to get the game.

We've still got a couple weeks to sort it all out, but keep the ideas and opinions coming. I'm not even really sure what the league options will look like after locking in the basic structure. I'd do a test run, but then I don't want something stupid to happen like only being allowed to create one league within a 2 week period or something. Last year with The Show, we had so many leagues created and abandoned we kept having to change the name, haha.
The strong showing of the CAG hockey team is urging me to get this and not the Show...
It really depends what you want out of your baseball game. 2K11 is not as polished, but gives a very solid and, more importantly, FUN baseball experience. The Show loyalists always talk about how much more disciplined and skilled you need to be to play their game, and that's all well and good. But I had too many instances last year of #5 starters and scrub relievers painting corners on me like they were Greg Maddux. I get that the game should be hard and I have no problem taking pitches, but every single game shouldn't be an uphill battle to get hits. I guess some people think that's fun though (players at the top of The Show leaderboards are batting .170).

If you want to play online, then the choice is more cut and dry. The Show is (and I'll go out there and say WILL ALWAYS BE...yeah, Sony, I said it...do something about it) terrible online. 2K11 is more scaled back (less presentation online), but it plays baby's ass smooth. And IMO, that's the first thing online should be. Add the bells and whistles after you make the game run properly. Like I said, it depends what you want.

Yeah that's kinda what I've been juggiling lately. I love RTTS, and I still do have MLB 10 to mess around with if I get that itch. I did enjoy 2k10 last year, and only traded it in cause I got a ps3 and was a long time Show fan...I haven't really noticed the #5 starters being dominent. Maybe its because my RTTS was drenched with custom guys I had never heard of and I just didn't realize that they were suppose to be mediocre.

Ultimately though, Alan's statement of there being a
Pirates-based
achievement may be a minor selling point for me. I'm hoping for a lighting deal around opening day, so I wouldn't be able to jump in till season 2 at the earliest.

Do we even have to have a balance of AL and NL teams? I figured the game would give the option of aligning teams however you want in online leagues. I really wanted to play as the White Sox.

Well, yeah. We don't HAVE to have a balance. I'm honestly not even sure what options it will give me as far as creating divisions. I was just trying to point out that with the 7 members we have now, we have 4 AL teams and 3 NL teams (and that's with you as the White Sox...not like you switching to the Dodgers would help anything). It's not critical that we get another NL team, but it IS critical that we get an 8th team since that's the next least amount after 4 teams.

Okay... just wasn't sure if the game forced you to separate things with an AL/NL split or not. I guess we'll find out. I'm sure no one wants an uneven number of teams in each division/league/whatever. What I said before still stands; I just hope it isn't a requirement of the game.

Man, I hope injuries are an option for online, because I've played one game of franchise, while simming Spring Training, and here are the injuries I've encountered.

Jose Reyes out 7 games with the flu
Angel Pagan out 46 days with leg injury
Lucas Duda out 11 days with strain
Mike Pelfrey out 4-6 weeks with ankle injury

That's just ridiculous.

So you're saying it's just like real Mets baseball? haha ;) That's pretty crazy that guys can get the flu though.

Figures I was at work. But before seeing your comment, I was thinking the same exact thing. Seemed realistic to me.

And what the hell. Finally got my copy today (haven't played any outside the demo though yet). But I figure I'll sign up since I love me some baseball. On principle, I can't be the Phillies (remind me to keep the cover of the game face down when I have it out ;) ). So the team I choose shall be the Atlanta Braves.

As far as preferences, short probably is better, maybe 20 games? Maybe it's just me, but at least on paper, 10 games sounds a bit short. And playoffs...best of three maybe? dunno really. And while I haven't tried the button controls, I have no issues with the analog controls.

On an unrelated note, nice to see some (two?) of the madden league guys in here. Which is why a 162 game season is a bad idea. Let's just say I'd give the Pirates a good run for their money.

finally tore myself away from my player mode to play a quick game against the cubbies and the brew crew came out strong, I need to figure out how to fix the in game stadium music to match what they play at Miller Park though

huh?
huh?
Unless I'm mistaken, Nate and Matt were both in the Madden League. As far as giving the Pirates a run for the money, the Pirates always have a losing record and I did pretty poorly in the Madden League back in...09 I believe it was.

I am in both CAG Madden leagues: 4th season of league 1 and 2nd season of league 2 for Madden 11. Been doing those as long as they've been around. Theredworm has been in the Madden 11 leagues since the game came out. Nate was briefly in a Madden league, but not this year.

All right, looks like JStryke is our 8th member.

EDIT - Oh, also, I think the general feeling was that people like the analog controls for pitching and hitting. There's not really a way to "enforce" that, but I'd strongly encourage everyone to use them just to make sure we're all on equal footing.
Analog hitting and pitching is fine, but will we have to use analog fielding as well?
Well, to me, fielding doesn't matter because there's not a setting you change for that. Both the stick and the buttons work at the same time...and there's not really an advantage to be gained from using one versus the other.
