Monster Squad 20th Anniversary Edition

Anyway for all the people who grew up the same time I did and have seen this movie, you already know of the pure awesomeness Monster Squad excretes. If you're like me and haven't seen this movie in ten years, do yourself a favor and preorder this bad boy. It's being released in two weeks.

Is this that movie where the girl throws the teddy bear to frankenstein at the end? I hated that movie when I was a kid.

I'm glad somebody else is excited about this too. I saw it when I was scanning through DVDs during the DD sale and preordered from Amazon.

I dont know why people on here have to say that this movie (is for children). this movie was not made for kids obviously hence the (PG-13) it has a couple of mild language parts in the humor but its mainly PG-13 due to violence.
I'm glad that wasn't my mom.

Oh, and remember...Wolfman's got 'nards.

I was just going to mention that LOL

I always thought he said "Wolfman's got gnarls?".... I guess I've been very wrong all these years.

good news though

Holee ... crap.

I loved this movie. Wolfman gets blown apart by dynamite and reforms? The Creature from the Black Lagoon sucks a shotgun blast and keels over, sans fanfare? Yeah, this had some good stuff, kicks to the nards and arrows tied to bandages not withstanding.

Ive known this was coming for a while (this and the re-release of Flash Gordon are the 2 Im really wanting)... that it is a 2 disc SE makes it all the more sweet

Good thing about it is Im ebaying my older copy of Flash Gordon to finance the purchase of these 2 movies

Yes it is and you must not have been one of the cool kids ;)

Hahahaha the fat kid, Brent Chalem, was a friend of mine/drinking buddy up at Cal. Obviously this movie was a poor man's Goonies, but it's still entertaining.

Oh yeah, cant wait for this.

Loved this as a kid. Theirs been a pal version for a long time, so its about time that the states got one.

I saw this movie in the theater. I made out with 2 chicks the same day. That's the reason I remeber it.

And the Wolfman quote.

Thre reason you didnt see a topic is because this isnt a OMG! type board its a DVD deal board and the announcement (back in April by the way so welcome to 3 months ago) is not related to this board.

:shame:
Never heard of this movie!!!!!
You must not have had HBO growing up, because it was on the channel ALL the time... the wolfman nards scene is classic

Little Monsters and Monster Squad (as a kid) were always movies my friends mentioned. I'd seen Little Monsters, but never Monster Squad.

I guess I can finally pick up MS now. ;-)

Picked up my copy. All my local best buys were sold out but I found was able to get one out of my area in golf mill, IL.

Yeah, what the hell was up with that? I went into the closest Best Buy around 1 pm and they were completely sold out. What, did each store only get 2 copies or something???

Bastards.

Strange. I happened into my younger brother this afternoon as I went to pick up Guitar Hero, and he couldn't find a copy at all; however, there wasn't even an empty shelf where it once was (the one that taunts you and says "too late, fucker!" - you know the one).

Oh, they had empty slots ALL OVER the place at my store. One in the New releases that had the name removed but said $14.99, and they had an official Monster Squad tag for $14.99 in the Horror section. Empty all around.

I even searched the store for dropped copies. Nope.

If I had any glitter on me, it would have been all over the place after I unleashed my primal fury.

OH MY GOD. I can't believe it. I had to verify on IMDB...that is just sad. I partied with the guy at Cal. Damn. He was such a nice guy, too.

I had a very hard time finding this locally. None at Circuit City, none at Best Buy, etc. I finally found a ton of copies at WalMart for about $14. So if anyone else is having trouble finding Monster Squad, check your local WalMart.

I just said shaq-fu it and ordered it from Amazon along with 300 on BRD ($20). It was $14 or $15, no tax, free shipping (with the combined packaging). I'll have to wait a week or so to get them, but oh well, the pricing was right.

This and Trolls 2, probably my favorite worst movie of all time. It's weird because HBO STILL shows Trolls 2 today...I seriously don't get it, someone on scheduling must really like that movie.

But I believe my favorite part is the, "Rock Until You Drop," montage.

WalMarts must've got most of the initial shipment, because after checking 4 BB's and a few CC's... I find it today at the first WalMart I check, they had about 7 or 8 copies

BB & CC for some reason don't regularly stock it. I checked at one of the most popular BB in the area of Boston and majority of the stores don't carry it for whatever reason.

Bought it last week and watched it last night. I must have missed then when I was younger, I did not remember seeing it before.

I did. I remember it being better as a kid though. Im surprised how they could get away with saying "f*gg*t in a kids movie back then. God, how I miss the days before PCness ruined the country.
