most reliable sega cd version?

over the past year i got two or three sega cds model 2 from ebay, but none of them ever worked, one started up but doesnt read any disk. now i just won this JVC version :

was it a good deal ? did any of you have any problems with this model?
i cant wait to finally play sonic cd and the eccos.

I don't know about that. I'm surprised about the model 2 though, there are a few that exists with some of my friends, and on last account they still worked like new.

My original Sega CD that I got at release works fine (original model). I still play both of Lunars on it every now and then.

I really need to get a new sega cd, playing Third World War on the PC with an emulator just isn't the same.
