It's an RCA 512MB. It's not great but it's only $25 if you order it online for in-store pickup (it's $40 at the store). You are actually buying a 180 download subscription (15 a month for a year at emusic) for your $25 and it comes with the MP3 player. I got it so I wouldn't have to steal my wife's player when I exercize. There might be better deals but $25 for a player and a bunch of free downloads looks good for me.

Also, don't be fooled be the "seven" color display. It's a 2 color display: black and a background color that you can change if you want.

EDIT: As is pointed out by another poster below, the price is now at $30.

Pretty nice deal. Does it look relatively permanent or seem like a limited time only kinda deal? I don't know if I should bite, but an mp3 player for running along with 180 free downloads is enticing. The PSP is too big to be very portable

I don't know. The deal says for web orders only. I tried to use my psp too and it was too big. I got a cell phone with mp3 and you have to buy really expensive headphones so that was out. My wife buys alot of music so this was a good deal for me. I'm listening to the last cagcast on it right now. It think the music you get from the deal is already mp3 quality (not cd) but does not restrict burning to cd or sending to multiple players so it depends on what quality you feel you want.
Do you still have to enter your CC number with the free downloads or can you use the card standalone?
I haven't tried it yet because I gave it to my wife to use and she hasn't gotten around to it yet. I did see a poster in a review say you did have to give a CC. Of course, that's what they make temporary account numebers for.

OK, thanks. It's not that big of a deal in the first place, I was just kinda curious. Just really don't like flinging around personal info if I don't need to.

I gotta decide whether this is a need for me right now. Ooh decisions, decisions...
Is there a review of this player anywhere? I was wondering how robust the selection is... (randomness, shuffle, self-created albums, etc.)
This is a very basic mp3 player. Don't get it if you want anything fancy. I'd estimate that it's twice the "fatness" of the original ipod shuffle. It has a very small LCD screen too. However, I will only ever keep 1-2 albums on it at a time for working out so no big deal to me. I haven't specifically seen a shufle feature but there are things it does that I don't understand since there is no instruction booklet with it (might be one on CD?).

Based on my use of it I would say it's only good for people like me that just want a "disposable" mp3 player for walking/jogging/other working out and for nothing else. I say disposable becuase I dont want to have to worry so much about the thing getting wet that I don't go outside when it might rain or dropping it a few times and such. Overall it's pretty big and ugly compared to other brands and models.

I think I might go for one tomorrow. I just need something to listen to while I'm running this summer- it might motivate me a little more  . Just wish I had ordered the dang thing before it jumped back up. It's still $24.99 on google cache, but I that's not gonna help me any.
