supposedly you can't use those cards to redeem because even though theyre 30% off they don't activate them at the register...any confirmation?

you have to buy the cards that are in the plastic casing that they dont have to activate

I can confirm that they are unable to activate those cards. I went friday and was going to purchase 4 cards. When I got to the checkout is when they told me that the cards cannot be activated. They do remove them from the shelves, but more come in on the trucks and they keep getting accidentally stocked. 100% confirm that they are unable to activate the cards
 
I've seen some 4000 MS Points cards sell on ebay for a little over $40.
Not an amazing deal but it is something you can check out.
 
Target was full-price when I went on Saturday. I like to stock up when they put them on sale for 25% off .
