Can anyone suggest a good site for comparing Xbox 360 and PS3 games? Essentially I'm looking to get the best version for MP games, whether it be graphically, content-related, etc. and I'd like to find a reliable site that can give a concise reason for one being better than the other. Thanks for any help.

Digital Foundry is my go-to source. I check Lens of Truth sometimes too, but only if DF doesn't cover something.

After reading a few face-offs, I've now got a pretty good understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each console to the point I can usually predict the outcome. Still fun to read the geeky details, though.

Just go with PS3. Really a game should never be about graphics. They don't differ enough and gameplay is the most important. Content is about the same too, maybe exclusive on 360 for a week or two but then it releases on PS3 with all the bugfixes. Surely there's a big community on either platform as far as MP. Not sure it's worth sifting through the nitpicks.

Then why tell him to buy on PS3?

For reasons less about comparing games. Reliability, variety in the library, less hidden costs to get full functionality, that kind of stuff.

As a long time gamer it just seems stupid for people to select games based on how shadows and lighting work. Nitpicky stuff as if it matters, ya know? Gameplay is first.

Thanks to those who gave helpful replies and not console fanboy propaganda. I've been using eurogamer and Digital Foundry and have found them both to be useful. Any other suggestions are welcome as well. Thanks again.

I realized as part of this thread that DF and LoT were 2 different sites. I think it's funny how often they disagree on things. A lot of the times when LoT says PS3 wins, or it's a tie, they lean towards Xbox, and the reverse.

I actually try to use both LoT and Digital Foundry, when possible. It's better to see two different perspectives than one.

But as someone said, the differences are usually pretty marginal.
PS3 doesn't charge for online, so that should make the decision for you.
He's looking for comparisons of games, not online services.
