I didn't think a new computer warranted a Bragging Rights post... but could anyone comment on my choices overall? I think I did quite well.

Specs:

$40 Case - Suntec 3719D + 480W power supply
+ $280 Mobo + CPU - ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe with/ AMD Athlon 64 3000+
+ $85 RAM - 2 512mb DDR400 sticks
+ $155 Video Card - Leadtek Winfast PX6600GT PCIe
+ $75 Hard Drive - Maxtor 160GB ATA 133
+ $45 DVD/RW - LiteOn 16x DVDRW/CDRW combo
+ $20 DVD-ROM - LiteOn 16x DVD-ROM/48x CD-ROM
+ $0 Floppy - free with case
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
$700 for everything

+ $60 Monitor - refurbished 19" Flat-Panel CRT Samsung

Not the best, not the worst. Decent, but not what I would buy. Good mobo, though.

My specs. Parts bought during Q1, so they're cheaper now (for the most part):

$400 - XFX GeForce 6800 GT 256MB
$140 - MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum nForce 3 Ultra AGP 8x (agp sucky. my bad)
$250 - AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2GHz socket 939
$166 - 1GB Mushkin (2x512MB) Dual Channel DDR 400Mhz 2-2-2-6-1T

My HDDs are kind of sucky but they work. I would have recommended SATA drives. Your optical drives are good though.. liteon rocks.

There have been some better RAM deals recently, and I am pretty sure (read: 100% sure) that you meant flat screen, not flat-panel. The two components I know least about are MOBO and video card, and of course, those are the most expensive. The MOBO is probably really good (for that kind of money, it had better be), and, by the price, I'd guess it is a mid-range video card, but, as stated, I don't know much about it. As long as you are happy with it, and it plays the games you want to play, that is all that matters.

Nice, ive heard the 6600GT can run most current games on high (inc. BF2). looks like you splurged on the mobo and pross, but pretty nice overall. Better than mine at any rate.

Damn I paid $650 to upgrade my PC, and I only got mobo, CPU, video card, and power supply lol

DFI LanParty nF4-D + AMD Athlon 64 Venice 3000+ retail = $270
ATI Radeon X800XL 256MB PCI-E = $295
Antec 400W = $60

I kept my existing memory (3x 512MB PC2700 DDR), HDs, DVD-RW, and case. So you're getting some really good stuff for ~$700. I think the 6600GT is smarter choice than my X800XL. Twice the $$$ but hardly twice the performance.

Not too bad. If you are patient, you can get some of those parts for cheaper. For a little over $900, I got an x800 pro, 1 gb ram, 3.2 ghz....*shuts up*
