I don't normally go to GameStop, but lately I've gone a few times because:

(1) they've been running fequent buy-2-get-1-free promotions on used games and DVDs,
(2) I've discovered that they're a *great* place to find used DVDs boxsets cheap, and
(3) I've been spending some time at my parents' house in podunkville, where the stores aren't nearly as picked over as they are here in Manhattan.

Anyway, here's what I got during yesterday's buy-2-get-1-free-deal:

The Wire Season 1 $29.99 (like new) (this set has an MSRP of $99.99)
Castlevania Chronicles $29.99 (like new)
Tales of Destiny $0 (like new)

The total before tax (but after my 10% GMR discount) was $54. A great deal as far as I'm concerned. They had plenty of other cheap used DVDs and boxsets in great condition--several Law & Order sets for $29.99, Clerks X (3-disc) for $9.99, Lawrence of Arabia (2-disc) for $9.99... So keep an eye out for these buy-2-get-1-free specials if you collect both DVDs and games.

I also did the buy-2-get-1-free deal at EBGames and got:

Cubivore $9.99 (very good, not quite like new)
Culdcept $9.99 (sealed but used--I think this should be a term used when a new item being sold as used, as in "I got lucky and culdcepted LotR at FYE")
Ring of Red $0 (like new)

So the total for those was $18, also a good deal. Also got Spider-Man 2 (GC) "new" for $20--it was the last copy, so I got reverse-culdcepted on that one :(

Other than that, just Simpsons Season 4 at Target... But the big surprise was definitely the two game shops pulling through with some great deals.

Yes, Gamestop's B2G1 free deals are great. Picked up some xbox games as gifts for a buddy. Also snagged a GC Harvest game with the free cow. EB took most of my money on PC games (Doom, Call of Duty, Painkiller, Rome, etc) .

My best deals happened to be at EB Games. I hardly ever buy anything there, but after seeing their ad in the forums, I had to check it out. I got Doom 3 for PC for $20. I also took advantage of their 2 for $25 on console best sellers (picked up Zelda:Windwaker and Super Monkeyball).

They were also running the buy 2 get 1 on the used games, I just couldnt find any for the pirces I wanted.
I have a brand spanking new Castlevania Chronicles played only once...Just how rare is this game??
Well the MSRP was $19.99 when it first came out and the OP got a used copy priced at $29.99 - I'd say it's pretty rare.

Yeah, GS was the only place I bought anything from on Friday. Picked up 2 copies of Lunar: Silver Star Story complete in box with all the extras and a Lunar 2: Eternal Blue complete in box with everything (including the pendant) for $60 + tax using the B2G1 deal. Super deal.

Most of my deals were at EB. I bought my brother (since he's gettting a GC for Christmas) Animal Crossing + Sonic Mega Col. for $25. I bought myself: Katamari Damacy (PS2) + Guilty Gear X2 (Xbox)= $25, Final Fantasy X-2 (PS2) + Front Mission 4 (PS2)= $25, and Chron. of Riddick (Xbox)= $10. I also got Full Spectrum Warrior (Xbox) = $15 (after GGC) at Best Buy.

I never thought to use the buy 2get1free deal on boxed sets! I'm so there next time this deal comes around again. I got Simpsons 1 and Futurama 1 for 15.99 at Amazon, and South Park 1, 2 Simpsons 4 for 17.88 each at Target. I'm a big DVD boxed set fan as you can see. :)
Any ideas on how much they sell Star Trek seasons for?
50 bucks. I got 3 DS9 sets for like 90 bucks after GMR discount and they even threw in a year subscription to GameInformer.

By the way, the buy-2-get-1-free deal is going on all week (not sure which day it ends). So if anyone is looking for boxsets, you're still good to go.
