My cheapass afternoon

RedvsBlue

CAGiversary!
Ok so first I check my mail and I got my free (well $4.80 for shipping) copy of NBA Jam from the Amazon ToysRUs deal. Then I had to return my mp3 player at Target, that was a cheap deal itself, a 64mb Samsung Yepp player for $50 on clearance, but it didn't work. Anyway after I returned it I went back to the video games section (of course). First, in with the movies, I found Celebrity Deathmatch for XBox for $4.98. Then I was about to leave but I saw another clearance rack and I moved a couple things out of the way and sure enough I found a huge stack of clearance games. From those I got Max Payne (XBox) for $4.98, Freekstyle (PS2) for $4.98, and I-Ninja (Gamecube) for $7.48.

My roommates were giving me crap about getting 5 games in 1 day when I still haven't played the Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow that I picked up on Saturday (the CompUSA $29.99 deal of course!). I guess they just don't enderstand the cheapass life...

Ooph Celebrity Deathmatch? That'd be like a cancerous sore in my collection, no way, not for more than 2 bucks. I've passed up Evil Dead (ps2) and Mace Griffin (ps2, multiple times actually), both for $5 each. Moments like that make me feel better about the 80+ unplayed games that i have...

Yep, Spending can get addictive. Has anybody actually played all their games? I still have Clock Tower 3 from the KB deal unopened.

I have games from 2002 that I haven't opened yet! I really need to start playing all the cheap games I bought but never got around to opening.

Hey me too! I just started Panzer Dragoon Orta, and it's really good. Been sitting on my shelf since the KB sale too...

Sweet deals. I'd love to score Max Payne for $5. Found it at Target for $15 two weeks ago or so, it's probably either sold or not clearanced lower at that location yet.

I-Ninja is a really good game. I personally loved it.

PLAY IT!!! It's a totally awesome game. Though I, too, buy a lot of games that I never open.

Here's a fun update. This afternoon (next day) I stopped at Target to get the new D12 CD. Anyway you know the story, this time I got Silent Hill 2 (XBox) for $4.98 and Silent Hill 3 (PS2) for $7.48. The total for two days is now $35 for 6 games, actually the total is $31.50 because my mom works for Target and I therefore get her discount as long as I'm still in college.

If your roomates are giving you crap about 5 games in one day, they'd have a field day ripping on me. Last week I averaged about 5 games a day starting on Saturday and ending on wednesday as I kept finding clearance games and cheap games every where I went.

My Target sucks also I live close to Gainesville Fl I wonder if it's a Florida thing ?

The other day, I tried for the Splinter Cell deal at CompUSA. OF course, they were out. I went to Best Buy to ask for a price match, which can oly be done if the original store HAS the product, which they didn't. But Best Buy did it anyway! I go home, open Splinter Cell, and find the 12-month Xbox Live card! Couldn't get better, right? Later that day, I'm at Target doing everyday normal shopping with my girlfriend. I glance at the games section and find Breakdown on Xbox for $20! 2 games and a year of Xbox Live for the price of a normal new game! I love this site...

Damn your Target must be where all the other Targets in the country send their clearance games to die

Actually I should have pointed out that it was two different targets. I live in Minnesota which is where Target's corporate headquarters is at so there is quite a few Targets in driving distance. In fact last night I was at Super Target and say UFC Fighting Championship for $7.48 but I passed it up. Oh well I'll leave some games for other people.

I live in Portland, OR, and we were pretty dry with the clearance deals for awhile, but now I'm starting to see a lot of them. However, most of them are for Xbox, and I don't own an Xbox, so I still have yet to buy any of the games I see on clearance.

I wouldn't mind Silent Hill 2 and/or 3 at those prices.

Doubt my nearest Target has them, but I'll check this weekend.

I think it is. My Target (Melbourne, Florida) never has any of these deals people say they get.
