The following is a TRUE Testament of being at the RIGHT place at the RIGHT time.
I was driving around to get groceries, when a little voice in my head whispered that I should rent a new game today. So I go to one of those Mom n' Pop video stores to rent something (cause I'm just coming off of Prey- OK game, nothing special).
I go in and, lo and be mother
in'-hold, I should see for rent, a PS2 copy of a Treasures of Aht Urghan, an expansion pack for Final Fantasy XI (the latest), an mmorpg that I have played on an off for two years.
I was gonna BUY this game when I had money next month. So, me being the cheapassgamer that I am, a brilliant Idea came into mind. All the clerks saw was just a PS2 game: They have NO idea that it's just an expansion pack, to a game than you need the Original PS2 big models, the Original copy of FFXI and the PS2 HDD to play(which just so happens that I got those).
I paid $5.34 total, got the instruction booklet, used the passkey in the back of the booklet, and voila, I got ToAU!!
Treasures of Aht Urghan is an expansion pack that is NOT rented. Anywhere.
In conclusion:
1. Goes to a small video store, sees FFXI:ToAU, an expansion pack, for rent.
2. Goes home, installs it, and gets ToAU.
3. Paid $5.34 now, instead than paying $29.99 next month. For a version of a game that is rather rare.
WHAT ARE THE
ING ODDS, PEOPLE?!?
That is what I call "SCORE!!!!!!"
