A new mom and pop store opened just a week ago. I went in and ask him for RPG's. He said just 2 days ago he sold suikoden 1, tales of destiny 2, Breath of fire 1(boxed and mint) 14.99, 18.99, 9.99 accordintley. But I manage to get something pretty kool probably doesent hold much of a value but kool for an RPG Collector. I got a Boxed Dragon Warrior 1 on NES. It had the box(mint, very minor shelf wear), Instructions, Game cart, original Nintendo Case, MAP, skills and Monster Chart, and Nintendo Club insert, all for 3.99(which was buy 2 get the 3rd free on all their classic games (psx,NES,SNES, Atari, game gear, genesis). Also manage to get a box Castlevania Dracula Curse on NES with everything including the manuel. and I picked up legend of legiai guide in pretty good condition for 99 cents.

This is why I prefer shopping at a mom and pop shop anyday of the week, hidden gems at a descent price
that's pretty good, but I would've gotten some old ps1 rpg's
they only had koudelka, wild arms 2, vanda hearts, but i already own them

Wow, I wish I had stores like that around here. All the smaller stores got bought out by a regional chain so it's either them or the big boys(EB, GR etc). There's one place downtown that sells a few used games/systems but they wanted $80 for an NES and $120 for an SNES with games priced in the same fashion you'd imagine with these prices so they aren't that great of a place to go. Also nice find on the Legaia guide, those things are a bit tough to find.

Yes i love small stores, this place was very well priced, 39.99 for an NES with 2 controlers(even new pin connectors and cleaned) and snes were 39.99 complete, SNES games are from 1.99 to 9.99(few rpg's tap the mid teens), NES games all below 5$ Except metroid(original Silver Box version) which was boxed and complete on NES for 9.99, thinking bout picking that up)

WORKING at a ma & pa video game shop was one of the best and unethical game collecting experiences I've had. I worked two years for this guy who ran a record shop next door (he opened the game shop as an annex). He took me on because of my experience with games. By the time I left I had Panzer Dragoon Saga, Vandal Hearts, Vandal Hearts II, Dragon Force....plus about 3 dozen other sought-after games.

how much was koudelka? and was it complete?

Complete and disc were in alright condition, few surface scratches, but near mint, for 12.99
Nice find...The only decent videogame store I have around here is Game Dude, which is a friggin' warehouse.
Game Dude in the valley?

Congrats 8ballGuy. I remember vividly the days of waiting for that package from Nintendo Power to arrive with my free copy of "Dragon Warrior" for reneweling my magazine subscription. Those were the days indeed....
Nice finds. That store is seriously underpriced for complete games.
I got one of those, but the problem is they seem to remember the days of funcoland. Ogre battle for snes (boxed)= 100, but newer games like suikoden 2= 30, rhapsody sealed- 35, sealed persona or persona 2= 30 etc. If it was high at funcoland (when they had that giant list printed and no prices on the actual games) it's high here, if it wasn't high then, it probably isn't high here.

hey mang, you should pick up that koudelka and then ship it out to me... 20 dollars sounds about right... PM if you would do this huge favor

Sooo...I have an idea, I don't know if it will get off the ground. What if we compiled a list of good indepedent game stores in each city? I travel a lot and never know where to go when in town besides the same old GS and EB like stores. Usually only the locals know where the stores with "character" are.
