88 (100%)
usb controllers with 8 ports on each system.

this would be VERY cheap to do, and i am REALLY sick of having tons of diffrent controllers (ii have a box of about 20-30 under my couch), id like all 3 next gen consoles to do this, kinda sad that they wont becaus e it would really save time and money designing a new controller system

I would like to see a disk changer. I know I'm being lazy, but wouldn't it be cool to just put in like 5 games or movies, and be able to switch with the controller?

Also, all controllers should be wireless.

I dont think all controllers should be wireless. You should always be given the choice. Many a time my Wavebird has died in the middle of something important such as:

The battle vs. Metroid Prime
Mid-race in F-Zero GX
etc.

Besides, you are pretty much guaranteed to lose the rumble feature in a wireless controller while adding some bulk as well. The Wavebird is less comfortable than the standard GC controller. Granted, the Wavebird kicks ass, but still.

And batteries are fucking expensive.

As far as punq's idea, it will never happen, but what might happen is adding a couple USB ports to each system, like the PS2 has. Although the one thing that sucks about the PS2's ports is the fact that you can't just plug in any USB gamepad and make it work. That would be neat. But honestly I don't care having all these controllers.

Universal USB ports would be nice, but yeah, it's too idyllic. It'll never happen as long as such rabid competition exists between consoles. But it would be nice :)

And I dig Sneaky's new avatar. Variety's the spice of life, man.

A disk changer in next gen systems would be nice, but would increase the size of the systems.
I think that first party wire and wireless controllers should be avaliable. And we need more colors in our controllers. The N64 had a ton of different colored controllers, lets see some more color.
Cant you buy adapters so you can use controllers from different systems?
often the adapters are ~$20 which is close to the price of a controller

That much? that sucks. All the companies make bank from accessories, so your wish will never come true.

Can the wavebird take recharagables?

Also...on the wireless note...Logitechs new controller (it does cost 40-50 dollars) claims to have 50+hours of gameplay WITH RUMBLE and 100+ without...Now if all nextgen controllers had that I would be a happy person...Oh yeah and it only runs on TWO AA!!

Really?! I'm about to get some money soon and this is sounding oh so sweet, could you give me a link to this?

I would like the ability to send vicious electroshocks over the next version of Xbox's Live headsets. Getting a nice jolt would cure a lot of the idiots online of their retardation. "Dur, your mom's a fag! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! IT BURNS!"

I would very much enjoy that as well.

The only adapter I ever bought was this really shitty thing that was supposed to let you use a PS2 controller on either a Cube or Xbox. It didn't work on the Xbox. For the love of god, I BOUGHT IT FOR GENMA MOTHERfuckING ONIMUSHA!!!!!

Stupid fucking companies with their products that don't work. I hope they all go to hell.

sadly the usb will likely not happen as that would remove the controller cash cow...

Wireless is very possible cause they could come with recharageable batteries and stands to set the controllers into to charge just like a cordless phone. Could be standard or at least an option for user preferance.

I would like to see every console with a hard drive (like box), and the ability to be a pvr for free bascilly i would like to see every system have the ability of a modded xbox 120 gigs movie player media player etc

You can really do this with the xbox right now.
