my ps2 needs more memory.

CAGiversary!
i fired up my ps2 today to play some colony wars and come to find out my memory cards are all filled. Other than buying the oem 8mb ones has anyone tried some of the bigger ones and had decent luck? Id rather have only a few cards around since i tend to misplace them and basically the only ones i can keep track of are the ones in the system itself.

The rule of thumb remains that every memory card greater than 8mb is very unreliable. If they don't have the "Magic Gate" logo on the card, you're playing with fire.

I'd recommend tracking down a 20/60 gb PS3 but then you start to run into the YLOD issues.

no, no ps3 yet. I bought one from gamestop a few weeks ago when they had the 50 bucks off a new system but the system i ended up getting was one of there "opened store copies but not used" deals. I returned it with alot of misery from them and ended my decades long relationship with them. It soured me so much on the purchase i started playing my old systems hence the question.

Just buy more OEM 8MB units. They're dirt cheap. It's a bummer having to keep a few of them around, but it's worth the headache you'll save using the cheap-o aftermarket crap.

Buy more memory cards. Then buy a box or tin to put your extra cards in, and keep it on your entertainment center. Nice and easy.

3rd party memory cards sucks.. some games are known to corrupt cards if they are not original..

one game that springs to mind is ar tonelico.. lost a full memory card of save games due to that game.

thats why i bought theese..
