So my girlfriend gets an obscene amounts of money to go to school (the area I live in has a semister of full time college for around 1500 bucks for 17 credit hours + books.. cheapest in the state of Utah) and she has grant money/federal money/department of workforce services to pay for it.. so she gets a hefty refund check (3000 for school related expenses) .. she used this money to help me go back to school part time (about 750 with books) we (when I say we I really mean HER) purchased a new computer (about 750) and an xbox 360 (just a pro) with Viva Pinata, Gears of War, Oblivion, lost planet (all used..various prices) extra wireless controller with play and charge kit.. she also purchased a 80 GB Ipod for her.. but she also bought me 12 month xbox live gold membership and 2000 MS points (which I used on XBLA games) she also paid off her car registration, car insurance, all of our back bills (not too much but some none the less) and fixed up her car..

last semister she bought a car (an older camero but still paid for it in full)

so she said I had to make a thread on that "cheap ass site" to say how good of a girlfriend I have and how I got my xbox for nothing.

why yes yes she does... infact sometimes she wants to have MORE sex than me.. i would argue 6 of the 7 nights around here involve sex..
 
No offense to you intended, but I'm sure glad to see my taxes are going to such great use :roll:

It sickens me to think that I've been working full time while attending school full time just to ensure that I'm not in debt up to my eyeballs when I graduate, while other for whatever reason get a free ride and then some. If your Girlfriend gets grants and what not because of her academic successes, then all the more power to her, but that doesn't sound like it's the case to me from what you describe.
 
Not to be rude, but that is ridiculous. Good to see the money is going towards people who truly deserve it. I'll remember this next time I watch my friends have to make the choice between textbooks or eating anything more than top ramen.
 
I got grants and stuff to go to school last semester, I ended up having an extra 800 left over to do what I wanted with after books. I know some people that just stopped going to school after they got their check since they don't have to pay them back. They even allow people to do it twice. After the second time you don't get anymore unless you go through an appeal.

she does get scholarships and grants based on academics but also because workforce services pays her to get trained in something better than fast food..

i work 35 hours a week and I go to school part time.. I can't get a scholarship or grants because of my parents finacial situation and i can't go to school any other way..

my girlfriend's dad is disabled he can't work.. even if he wanted to.. so thats why she gets some of the grant money.. other grant money she gets is because she is a resident of the area, she lives on her own, and she qualifies for food stamps (why the workforce services pays for her to go to school)..

i don't fault her for getting money she deserves because of her background.. i would do the same..

you want picks of the check reciepts? bank statements?

i can probably get an itemized list from her bank (blacked out all the personal info obviously.. )
