I bought one of the madden rainchecks from a user here for 2.00. about a week ago. However when I went to use it on another 39.99 game they didnt have any 39.99 games that I wanted. So they said I can use it on any game. I ended up getting FF x-2 for 18.60. They scan the raincheck either. They just scanned the game and discounted it by 63%. Anyways thought Id share the info.

Can you guys please explain how the whole rain check thing works. How much was the raincheck for? Can you always switch rain checks on games? Please clarify.

You're lucky. My targets won't let you use a raincheck for a computer game for a GC/PS2/XBOX game, despite the use of logic (a computer game is the same as a console game - it's all software - it's just the platform you play it on that's different). Then I say "so if the sale was on a flannel shirt, you can't use it on a polo shirt" that I picked up from this website. Their response is always "....uh.....well....that's.. different" --- and that's it. Oh well, I'll live.

Lets say they have 30$ off game xyz, but that game (which you dont want btw) is out of stock. So you get a raincheck and you can use that for another game and get the discount.

Unfortunately if the target has the game in stock you can't get a rain check. Like my target always has the sale games in stock so I am SOL.

Technically you can only use rainchecks for items in the same department number. Video games are specified as department 207 while software games are department 201. Therefore Target policy is to reject raincheck substitutes for video games in the case of the madden football item.

My Target gave me a raincheck for a PS2 game that they had many copies of. They had little tags hanging in front of the case that said "for raincheck give to any clerk" and I got one even though the game was there.

It DOES say "Sony software" on it, though. So that might mean a clerk would only let you use it on a Playstation game (I made sure to get an Xbox one too). GBA games often have large percentage discounts but again, YMMV as to getting that discount on a non-GBA game.

It's only for 23%, but I think if I hang on to it, I won't be able to beat MVP Baseball for $38.88.

You are all so lucky. My Target doesn't even give out rainchecks on any electronics. I tried about a weak ago to get a raincheck for Tak for GC and the game was out of stock but they said "we can't give out rainchecks for that kind of stuff" I was very dissapointed :(

I had an even better deal at my Target. Instead of taking 63% off the price of the games I bought (FFX-2 and Silent Hill 3), they lowered the price of both games to 14.88 like a price-match.

Ka-ching!

The target I go to has a pad of rainchecks hanging in the game display case. I've never been able to use them because they always have the sale games in stock
