Well obviously I wasn't thinking right, and I also was kinda pissed, but I was taking my 360 from horizontal to lateral when the screeching on the disc started, I quickly switched back do horizontal and now there's a little 1cm deep scratch on the outer end of the Black Ops disc. I put the disc in and quickly started a multi-player game to see if it would still work and it did. Now I'm wondering, will this keep working, or is only going to work for a day or two? Thanks for all your help!

Did you already have the game installed on the hard drive? If so, I don't think you have much to worry about.

perfect circle? well if so its common, and it most likely messed up whatever part of the data it goes through. easiest way to find out is to install it and see when/if it fails. but since you only have a 4 gb slim, you will just have to find out the hard way... wait for it to freeze when it is loading a map (i have a copy that freezes on nuketown everytime)

Unfortunately yes, it's the perfect circle :/
I've tried about 5-6 maps and everything is fine so far, any idea if this will effect multiplayer only or will the effects be on campaign and zombies also?

it's random as to what it'll effect (I think, at least from my experience), I've had this happen to some games and they won't work at all. But with my Gears of War 2 disc, the multiplayer works fine, but the campaign won't load. For you I'm sure it'll either end up being a certain zombie map, part of the campaign, etc. Could effect anything. At least your multiplayer is working though.

Did a quick test of all my multiplayer maps, and zombie maps, thankfully everything is looking good. I'd check the campaign, but that'd take a while, and honestly I don't see myself playing the campaign again anyways. Man, I definitely need to be more careful next time. thanks for all the advice guys! :)

That's why its good to take out the disc when moving the system
