N-Gage games 1/2 off @ Gamestop

Sounds like an OK deal, but ebgames had a lot of the brand new games on sale for $4.99, but I might still check this out, seeing as I am probably one of the only ones in my area that even has a ngage, lol.

Great tip. Time to get some of the more recent titles, like Xanadu, Glimmerati, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. I might even get X-Men Legends, KoF, and Worms, which are a bit older but have never had an EB clearance-style drop.

Glimmerati, especially, seems like a must-buy. The Gamespy review makes it sound like GOTY material.

Anyway, I'm guessing this deal is going to be in-store only. They're probably eliminating N-Gage from the stores to make room for XB 360 and such, but will continue to sell N-Gage online. I would not be surprised to see EB do something similar between now and November.

There's actually a lot of big titles still upcoming for N-Gage, like Aphalt 2, the Pathways sequel, and War of the Worlds. And there are some interesting minor titles like the Atari volumes 1 and 2 and Mile High Pinball due out before the end of the year.

One of my nearby stores has a used original N-Gage system in stock. I wonder if that'll be half off. Probably not, but I'll call today and find out.

points and laughs. You're joking right? About Xanadu? You won't fucking find it. Trust me I tried finding it at my Gamestop when it came out and I didn't. If you manage to find it at your Gamestop consider yourself LUCKY.
EB and GS both don't have listings for it on their website and try to find it anywhere else.

I'm thinking I'm going to come up short on KoF as well. But, hey, I gotta try.

Wow, this is a very good deal. I'm definitely going to try to pick up Glimmerati and X-Men. It's kinda sad that Gamestop is going to quit carrying N-Gage games, but there could be a reason for it.

There are some rumors going around that Nokia plans to phase out selling hardware games. Instead, people will go to the N-Gage's website, purchase the game and can then download it and place it on their MMC.

Supposedly, this will cut the price of games by a large margin and could make for an interesting turn of events in the N-Gage's future.

Yes, THAT is the reason GS is going to stop carrying N-Gage games.

Hey, I'm not saying that it's solely the reason. I'm sure those N-Gage games aren't flying off the shelves, but do think it would be a smart move on Nokia's part. They won't have to really worry about losing money on manufacturing games that don't sell.

I have yet to pay more then $2.99 for any of my N-Gage Games, but I'm still missing quite a few, especially Glim, X-Men Legends, KOF, Xanadu and I missed out on Shadowkey... so I might have to stop by. Btw Xan is listed on the NGage website, unfortunately they are charging $19.99 for it + $4 S&H.

I just called the local GS, and the clerk had no idea. He admitted that it seemed plausible, since they don't sell NG stuff often (and are the only store in the area to carry it).

I'll try back after class today. I have to give a test, and 'twould be ironic if I were more fidgety than the students due to the anticipation of cheapo NG titles!
what are systems running now? Wheres the best deal and all that fun stuff.
New QDs go for $100 new, and the original N-Gages go for $50 used at Gamestop.

Not to hail the N-Gage, but if you don't have a cell phone plan and want a new phone, you can go to their website and get the phone for free after rebate AND X-Men Legends for free. Unfortunately you have to wait a few days to get the phone shipped, but the shipping is also free. The worst thing about it is you have to commit for a year, and the cheapest plan I saw was $29.99 from T-Mobile.

Spent a bit today.

X-Men Legends
KoF Extreme
Xanadu Next
WWE Aftershock
Glimmerati
The Roots: Gates of Chaos
Requiem of Hell

I believe I have all but 5 N-Gage releases in the US: Ghost Recon, Asphalt: Urban GT, Operation Shadow, Worms: World Party, and Marcel Desailly Pro Soccer (most of these are easy to come by). Cool!

im guessin they were 1/2 off?

Just got back from raiding my Gamestop. The Gamestop chick who was helping me didn't know about the 50% off. Thankfully, a fellow employee was in the store (but not on duty) and confirmed the deal. She had to ring up the discounts manually, which took a while since I bought a lot, as you'll see, but it all worked out in the end.

Here's what I got:

Used Games:
NCAA Football 2004 (complete): $1.50
MLB Slam (card only): $1.50
Splinter Cell (card only): $1.50

What's funny is that the zip search on the site has been showing these used games in stock for months, but whenever I've asked about them, the guys behind the counter would look each other funny and say, "I don't think we have any used N-Gage games. Nope, we sure don't." And whaddya know? There they were, in the drawer next to the new games, the exact titles I've been asking about. Dummies.

That said, I probably overpaid for MLB Slam, but hey, it's only a $1.50 and I didn't have it. Splinter Cell is too good a game to pass up for $1.50, whether it's complete or not. And a complete copy of NCAA has to be worth $1.50.

New Games:
X-Men Legends: $12.50
Worms: $12.50
Ghost Recon: $10
Roots: Gates of Chaos: $12.50
Requiem of Hell: $10
King of Fighters: $10
Chaos Theory: $12.50
Glimmerati: $12.50

and...

Xanadu Next: $10

(*Holds up copy for Sarang to see*) Who's fuckin' joking now, pal?

Kidding aside, they only had one copy of Xanadu or what I would've bought a copy for Sarang and/or whoever else wanted one. In fact, they only had one copy of all the newer games, like Glimmerati, Roots, and Chaos Theory. I think I also got the last copies of X-Men and KoF.

In all, I'm pretty happy with my take. Sure, I probably paid too much for Requiem, Roots, and maybe Worms, but I wanted them for my collection so I decided to pay up. I might keep those sealed for a couple of weeks in case EB suprises us with some deals, though it's unlikely. EB had Requiem for cheap very briefly a few weeks ago, but none of my local stores had it in stock. EB's site is pretty depleted of N-Gage stuff right now, and I doubt they're working very hard to replenish it at this point.

I have another Gamestop a little farther away that sells N-Gage stuff, so I might try them tonight. According to the zip search, they don't have much, particularly the newer games. But it doesn't hurt to check.

Good luck.

Cool....I'llhave to check out my local GameStops and pick up a few games I;m midding... I also have extras of Pathway to Glory and SSX in the 'Not for Resale' forms for collectors.

This is my Score at Gamestop:
Xanadu Next: $10
X-Men Legends: $12.50
King of Fighters: $10
Glimmerati: $12.50

also are the used games half off?

Yes, all new and used games and accessories are half-off. New and used systems are not discounted however.

Picked up

Glimmerati and Worms World Part

they did also have Xanadu, but the reviews weren't too great on that, thinking bout ghost recon or red faction.

not sure which splinter cell they had.

Is Xanadu any good?

Well no luck around me, but...

I can say that with prices over $10 most people will skip over this deal that don't own a n-gage. Remember the $2-5 deals awhile back on EBgames? If you check out eBay you'll notice a ton of Operation Shadows, Ashens, Pocket Kingdoms, SSX's, etc. up for sale on eBay with a BIN price for $7.99. It's obvious CAG and other sites attracted, yes, NGage game hoarders to make a profit on eBay, but of course no one is buying them up when you can spend a few more dollars and get the games directly off nokia themselves or a few off ebgames legitly sealed and what not.

So if you got any Gamestops around you, go take a look.

As for Gamestop no longer carrying N-Gage games, I'm pretty sure the reason is because they don't sell :p In another year the Gizmondo will suffer the same fate.
EB Games has a big N-Gage sale, buy an N-Gage for $100 plus your dignity and get dissapointment and shame free!
I heard that's to counter Sony's earlier promotion - $250 for a portable movie player, AKA the PSP.

Ended up finding a Gamestop that carried N-Gage games. Everything was 50% off including accesories, N-Gages weren't though.

12.50 for X-Men Legends, Glimerati, Chaos Theory
10.00 for King of Fighters Extreme and Xanadu Next

Does anyone know when this is going to end? One Gamestop employee told me it ended Sunday, but that guy's an idiot and usually doesn't know what he's talking about.

I tried to buy a couple of N-Gage games on Sunday and they rang up at full price, and then the stupid employees said that the half off deal was only on accessories.
I hate Gamestop.

That's why it's also known as GameStupid.

Really? The Gamestop employee told me this was until all their n-gage accesories and games were sold out.

Sucks because I was thinking of going back, I didn't grab Roots, Worms or Shadowkey yet.

Called my local Gamestop today. They said the deal is still on. If there's an end date, they don't know it.

I stopped in a my local Gamestop today and picked up Shadowkey, X-Men Legends, and Xanadu for a total of $35 or so after tax. I may go back Tuesday to get Glimmerati, Roots, and Requiem of Hell.
