So I had heard of Nanostray, but never looked into it until today. I realized its a shmup! How can I possibly resist? So is it worth getting (ok I'll probably get it anyway) and is it anywhere on the cheap?

I have enjoyed it so far. It really puts up a good challenge.

I got it last year when ToysRUs had a buy 2 for $25 and Nanostray was the only good game on the list. So I bought that and Texas Hold'em and took Texas Hold'em back the next week.

I still see it at GameStop, maybe for around $20, not really sure.

It solid shooting game. You can choose variety attack style-beam,laser,sprey.Not quite as fast pace like old school crazy japanese shoot-them-up

I picked it up during buy 2 for $25 deal also, picked Nano and bust move.Ebay bust move for $15,so it ended up being $10 for nanostray afterwards.

toyrus has it for $20.you need to go to brick and mortor, online sold out.

Yes it is. When I had a DS this is one of the games I made sure I played before I sold it. It's not even an expensive game at that, go buy it, you'll probably enjoy it.

I have it and like it.
Gameplay is decent but the graphic is very beautiful (for the Ds).

One bad thing of it is its having-to-use-the-touchscreen-to-change-the-weapon.

By the way, have you ever seen the trailer of its sequel ?
It looks even better.

I didnt think it was that great, but I didnt beat it, so it may get better in later levels.

But since its cheap, and its the only shmup on the DS, if your a shmup fan of any kind, I'd say its worth owning.

Be prepared to be happy beating your own scores.. The game is over pretty quickly. They even admitted to rushing it out as money didn't permit them anymore time with it.

The two player mode is somewhat fun if you want to challenge each other. It would have been better if you could have played the game coop though and not competitively

Its good if you're into shmups. But if you're into shmups, you'll also find plenty to nitpick at. The online ranking system (submit code at website) was pretty cool.

I watched the Nanostray 2 video today, and it reminded me of Thunder Force V (a game I really enjoyed for PSX). I don't play many shmups but is there anyone who's played both TFV and Nanostray that can compare the two?
