Nascar Thunder 2003 Gamecube $1.99!

CAG Veteran
I saw this last night at the Best Buy in Santa Monica, CA. I picked up the game when it was $4.99, man did I get ripped off! Average overall rating 85% at gamerankings.com

I saw this too at my Emeryville Best Buy. Some dude picked up 4 copies. I wonder what the hell he's gonna do with it. Doesn't seem like great trade bait..
im EAST COAST and couldnt find this anywhere.....any help CAG's???
Dude, there is a game crazy 15 miles from my house!! I cant believe it! A positive thing about living in WI!!! HOLLA HOLLA

I went to two Best Buy stores here in Boston and they were both SOLD OUT. My guess is that some employee checked his discount and got like .50 for each copy and bought the entire lot.

This game is awesome for PS2, I wouldn't think the GC version would be much different. Best in the series IMO.

Yeah I live in Boston, too. Cambridgeside BB and Landmark BB are pretty bad, and the one out in Saugus isn't much better.

I bought two from that best buy yesterday.

However, there is a huge dead zone in the middle of the analog stick for steering, so it's not quite as easy to do precise movements. I prefer the "Dirt to Daytona" version's control.

wow. i bought the PS2 version for about $12 a few months ago, and have barely had time to play it... If only i had waited!!!

I know the XB and PS2 versions of the game are pretty tight; i would assume that the same could be said of the GC version.

I'll vouch for that. It's very hard to keep your car steady going around a turn in Nascar Thunder 2003, way harder than it should be. I also own Dirt to Daytona and much prefer that one. I don't even think I've played Thunder since getting Dirt to Daytona. But still, it's well worth $2.

damn - my BB is sold out....can anyone pick me up a copy? I know there are those of you out there who scooped 10 + copies...help agamer out will ya?

Gonna try and grab this one tonight. Hope its still in stock....$2 is absolutely worth buying it even if its just ok.

Serious? Were you the one who swiped the last two? If that was you I had a suspicion you were a CAG. I was dude with the blue hoodie and blue beanie cap looking at the cube games while my odd friend was playing Mario Kart on the kiosk.

Oh and anyone know if I can take this unopened game to a TRU or Target or some place, say it was a gift and exchange it for another title? I've heard they'd let you at some places. I'm bout to hit up Union City and/or Concord BB to grab all the copies just for that, if it works.

Just say no!

Yup; the GC version has a HUGE deadzone in the center of the stick, so you have to move the controller waaayyy too far to just do a little adjustment. Dirt to Daytona handles much better and has more gameplay types. (Dirt, Truck, Open, etc.)

I just went to my local bb about an hour ago with the plans of picking up copies for people, but no luck. I may do some more traveling today and see if I can find some.

Wow...couldn't believe it. Went to an out of my way BB...only because I was there but grabbed one last copy. When I brought it to the register the guy ringing it up even said "Why is this so cheap?" Thanks for the post.
