Ok, so I was getting pissed that I couldn't connect to games over Live. Then I realized (after running a connections test) that my NAT is set to strict. Why would that be? How can I change it to open? This is the same router I've had the entire time I've had a 360 and have never really had any problems until recently. Can anyone help?

first try doing a power cycle, unplug your modem and router.

If that doesn't fix it your going to have to post your model of your router and I can help you with opening ports.

This will work for nearly every router. Give your xbox a static ip (ie 192.168.1.37) just use the same number it currently has. Now log into your router and find something called DMZ demiliterized zone (sp). Enter the ip address of your xbox. This will pass through all trafic like if it were directly connected to the modem. Obviously a bad idea if it were a pc but the xbox can't be hacked over the internet.

You should be able to just log into it through your web browser. Check your network connection status and just type the gateway address (from the support tab) into your webbrowser.

i'd also check to see if your internet modem (which connects to your router) is xbl compatible. I spent hours on end trying to solve the issue even replaced it with a XBL certified router and still didn't work.
Easiest thing to do is if you have dsl you will need a efficent networks 5360 modem or a 2wire. Hope this helps!

Check with the manufacturer of your router to see if there's newer firmware for it. If so, then I'd recommend updating the FW on the router to the latest version.
