NBA 2k11 (PS3 [3D], 360) $29.99 at BestBuy

good but hard game. dont try and play NBA Live. virtually every pass is picked off by the opposition. and im not exagerating. they get their hands of everything, even seemingly routine and extremley safe passes, they dive out of nowhere.

It's basketball, not football. Pass smart and stop trying to pass it like a hailmary.
 
Presentation wise...probably the best sports game ever. It's super realistic and makes this the most realistic basketball game ever. No more turbo and dunk with no defense. You have to pass, penetrate the lane, and feed the post to open up outside shots. On defense, the CPU will kill you if you try to sit around and keep trying to steal the ball. You have to play real D.

im talking about EVERY pass. i dont bomb pass. a simple pass to the player directly next to me gets picked off or at least tipped. they grab everything.

Play better? I admit, the defense is much more sophisticated in this game, but as long as you're making smart passes, you'll be fine.

I recommend this game to any sports fan.
 
Honestly, I've avoided sports games altogether for years now. They're very in depth and difficult to play if you're more of a casual player.

NBA 2K11 is no different... maybe even worse. It requires you to play very smart and will kick you in the ass when you try to get flashy with a pass or shot.

However, I decided to put forth some time and try to get it down, being as big of an NBA fan as I am. Once you realize what you can and can't get away with and start playing smart instead of flashy, you'll play well.

And I don't know about you guys, but if I pull off some play where I timed a pass just right or read a defense well and took advantage of it, it's much more rewarding than some flashy dunk, considering how unforgiving the AI can be.

Pick this game up if you're even remotely interested.
 
Exactly, if you try to play flashy you will get punished by the A.I, just like in real life. People need to learn to play before they start complaining.
 
Yeah Amazon matched. And the PC version is $19.99 also, but that looks like a price drop more than a sale, since it was always $29.99
 
I had this in hand at BB today, decided not to buy.

Might pick it up via Amazon though since they price matched and I don't get charged Sales Tax from ordering with them.

Oooh, nice. I did the whole "Tell us about a lower price" thing, but I didn't think they'd actually match it. Was planning on going out sometime this week to BB, but yeah, screw that now.
 
Which glasses do I need to play this in 3D? I have both systems and want to buy it from Amazon, but don't know which system I should buy it for since I don't have

any friends that play videogames. Also, is it 3D capable on any TV or just 3D TVs? Thanks in advance.

you need a 3dtv and then you need the glasses for your 3dtv.
 
I'm waiting for 4D. Supposedly that allows you to transport yourself through time. Imagine playing NBA 2k11 in ancient Greece or in the time of the dinosaurs. It would add a whole new degree of challenge as you try to dodge spartans and velociraptors. 3D is for pussies.

i don't know if i'm getting "punished". i'm still leading the East (i play as the Bulls) in my the association mode. but i average about 13 turnovers a game.


(waits for TEH LULZ HEH IZ PLAYUNG OHN TEH EEZEE MODE comments. btw...i play on the third level up if you care. not rookie, not pro, the level after that..i want to call it all-star but i think thats what live calls it).
 
They made the game much worse after updating it. Passing is a pain in the ass and you will commit so many turnovers no matter how smart you play. You have to use icon passing even if the guy is right next to you

heh, wait till you play on hall of fame(hardest) regularly.

3D does work on the 360. I can't speak for the stereoscopic 3d like on the PS3, but it available and it also has the red-blue 3d. That works as advertised, but the framerate takes a major hit.
 
Heard this is a great game, but if I waited this long, I can wait til it hits sub-$20 when the season ends.

haha wth is that! you put on some neurosensors and it makes your brain blink your eyes like that to create 3d? i'm just thinking about how many bottles of eye drops you would have to use for that 3d technology.

i'll wait to see if the 3ds 3d is a success and if it is i'll wait some more for it to be incorporated into tvs and computer monitors.

And if you think all the Seizure warnings on videogames now are overkill, I can't imagine what kind of warning they would have to put on manuals for that crazy thing.

It's sometimes YMMV if the cashier will do it, but amazon matched, so it is practically the same price shipped to your door, depending on tax.

yeah im definitley easing in to that. its definitley an adjustment, i've been playing Live since 2002. live is much more three-3s-give-you-momentum-and-the-other-guys-shots-dont-fall than this game.
 
Gave this game an hour of my time, and then sent it to eBay. There's simulation, and then there's utterly aggravating. Looks good... but it's the Demon's Souls of sports games.
