NBA 2k9 Cover Athlete Contest

To enter in the NBA 2K9 cover athlete reveal sweepstakes, participants must register from May 22 - June 4. Official contest rules and other important information can be found on www.2ksports.com/nba2k9. Fans will guess the NBA 2K9 cover athlete from a list of NBA players provided, and all entrants that are correct will be entered into a random drawing to win the sweepstakes prizes on June 5. One grand prize winner will receive the NBA 2K9 cover athlete’s authentic, autographed NBA jersey, along with a copy of NBA 2K9 on the platform of their choice. Ten other first prize winners will also receive a copy of NBA 2K9. All winners will receive their copy of NBA 2K9 upon release of the game.

I would say CP3 but he was already on 2k8. But then again Shaq was on the cover 2 straight years wasnt he? (2k6/2k7?)

Also, I doubt it's going to Chris Paul. I can't think of a single sports series that had the same back-to-back cover athlete, outside of 1st party ones.
 
I went with KG but was reluctant as I would've rather chosen Dwight Howard.

stupid NBA Ballers...although I have yet to play the series, I guess they made a good choice using him as the face of the "Chosen One"
 
I don't think so, thats for that other game, NBA Ballers. So I assume Dwight is already with that other company, Midway?

If it is, the silhouette sorta looks like Chris Bosh, cause I think he's a lefty... but, eh, whatever.

AI had like 5 back-to-back covers with 2K sports and Shaq had two. =p
 
I guessed Chris Paul. He got a ton of TV time with the Hornets doing well this year and him finishing 2nd in the MVP race. Plus, maybe 2K's going back to using the same cover athlete year-to-year (like they did with A.I.).
 
I dont think the silhouette means anything. I watch a lot of basketball and that doesn't look like anyone. It looks like some generic figure they just created. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if they even finalised who is gonna be on the cover yet.
 
I picked KG just cause they are still in the playoffs and the only other choice(thats in the playoffs) is Parker who I don't think has enough star power.

Kobe and 2k Sports are not on good terms. According to an ign article I read a while back, Kobe had a verbal agreement to be the cover athlete for NBA 2k7. However, he turned around and agreed to be the cover athlete for Sony's NBA 07 for more money. Hence, the reason why Shaq was on the cover for two years straight: 2K6 & 2K7.

P.S. Does anyone know who the cover athlete for NBA Live is? They usually revealed who's the cover athlete by now.

I'm another bandwagon riding Kobe-basher. Just because Kobe isn't in jail, that doesn't mean he didn't do it. Ask O.J. about that.

Oh wow you're right. I owned 2k6 and 2k7, and also playked 2k1 and 2k2 back in the day. Lawl.

BTW, Rasheed being on the cover, IDK what I would do. It'd be the greatest day in my life.
