NCAA 08 Football problem

I just picked up this game recently and I notice some delays with this game loading, as well as some delays when the cameras shoot parts of the field not during game play.

I also receive a disk read error once and had to restart my game.

Are some copies of this game defective? Is this a sign of my 360 about to die? The disk is flawless purchased new with zero scratches.

I get the disk read error all of the time. To the point that I became save crazy. I even called Microsoft about it, and they opened an incident, but I wasn't about to send my 360 in for repair with halo 3 coming out. So, I saved often.
Played Bioshock through and not a single issue. Now I am playing halo 3 and (knock on wood) no issues. Strangely I had a similar issue with Madden 07. I think EA Sports writes their games where there is constant disk access.
 
I returned my copy of NCAA '08, which continually gave me disk read errors (and seemed to have a scratch on it), got a new one, and it has worked fine since.

I've only ever had to do that with one other game (return it to get a new copy because of disk read errors): NCAA '07.
