Need a cheapass ps2 network adapter monster hunter related to those who have it?

I need a cheapass network adapter for ps2, also im a bit confused here you see alot of people tell me with the network adapter I need a router if I want to use my cable modem with it, cant I just disconnect the modem from my computer and use it solely for the adapter?

Its an awesome game for the price (i picked it up like 4 weeks ago at 15..)


BTW, its works like XBL.... no need for a router but i suggest getting one (they are 10 bucks at BB sometimes)

I can ask my friend, he works for the cable co, I see if he will give me another router. If he gives it to me I'll pass it along to you if you take care of the shipping.

I got mine for about 15 bucks at ebgames. I saw one pre-owned for 25 and the guy was like. "crap its unusable you need an installation disk.) I told him if its unsellable i'd buy it off him for 10. he said 15 i said fine. Called ps got an install disk. Try your luck
 
I think this is the cord I need to plug into the adapter, not sure if I leave one end in the modem one end it the computer one end in the adapter or what, its kinda shorts, anyone know where I can get a longer one for cheap

thats just a regular ethernet cable. And if you want to be online on your computer and PS2 at the same time you need a router. If not you just unplug it from your computer and plug it into your PS2. It shouldnt be too hard to find a cheap ethernet cable, depending on how long you need it

Well I must say that was well said, and very clear, I thank you and everyone else who helped me get this shit clear, Ill buy this stuff ASAP.

I also plan to start a monster hunter CAG guild, so anyone who has the game be ready.
