topic...my printer just ran out of ink...and i don't want to buy ink for it because it is expensive...i was thinking that it would be better to get a new printer that has cheap ink.

the printer should be decent

tell me what you recommend

I hope you realize that a lot of printers come with demo ink carts that are not completely full.

Anyway the cheapest ink I have seen has been for canons ($5), but the carts are also very tiny.

Canon's would be you best bet. The ink is cheap and the quality is good. I got a Canon i475d for about $40 at Fry's and I'm just using el cheapo generic ink I got off ebay I got about 8 carts for about 16 shipped. Works fine. DO NOT BUY EPSON, if you don't use them everyday the damn things clog up. As for HP printers the ink is way too expensive.

STOLEN FROM FW: The Canon i560 printer is on clearence at Staples for $22 so you might try checking you local store to see if they have any in stock.

buy ink on ebay, seriously, mine came the next day $5, exact cartridge, and FULL :D

I'm thinking about getting a canon printer, but how long do the ink carts last? They are cheap, but those things look like they will run out after printing 10 pages.

I have the i560 printer and it blows away my HP Printer. The thing prints high quality text and pictures at a quick pace. The ink lasts a long time and multiple cartridges means that once you run out of blue, you can just replace the individual cartridge.
