I need help identifying the origin of this rare Okami item. Anyone know anything about it?

I've never seen another one of these before, I got it from someone in Japan. I'm not sure how this cup was originally released I'm assuming
it's some sort of promo item. There is some stylized Japanese text
on the bottom of the cup. I can only read the first line which
says "2006 Winter". It measures 3.5 inches tall and 3 inches across the top.
Sorry for the watermarks guys. I don't want anyone to get ripped off because someone stole my pictures and used them for fraud.

Don't get mad when you see I replied and have nothing to help you, haha.

Just wanted to say it's a very awesome cup

Thanks, It's definitely an awesome cup.
Nah I'm not upset but yeah I did get hopeful when I saw I had a reply. lol
So far I haven't been able to turn up any info searching around myself.

It says:

"Winter 2006" (as you know) and then follows with:

"Morii-san Tokono" Which is the name of the doujin club that made it.

Which basically means it is just a piece of fan work yes? Maybe sold at at the Winter 2006 Comiket?

Technically true, but it's important to remember that doujin here are part of the mainstream (especially comics) and are often sold in shops as designer materials and such.
Many doujin comics end up being much more valuable if the content is as good, or better than, licensed releases simply due to the scarcity of the items.
I don't know anything about hot tea cups, but depending on how many were made and/or if the club is famous, it could be worth something. Worst case scenario, it could be a cool conversation piece/collector's item.

Thanks so much for the help dv8mad. I had no idea doujinshi groups made items like this, they did a great job it that's for sure.
While I'd love for it to be an official piece it's definitely rare as a doujin work from 2006. Either way it holds value for the workmanship of the piece.
