Hey guys,

I bought my Sega CD a few years back (like 8 years ago) and it's been broken for that long. It's just been in a box tucked away with a copy of Snatcher that has never been played. I've learned a lot in 8 years, like how to solder and look-up repair videos on Youtube. So I thought of have a go at fixing it. Let me first describe the problem, then the way to repair it and then the road block that's stopping me.

The power on console will not turn on. After looking at a few videos focusing on the same problem, I've determined it must be the fuse. It seems most Sega CD brake this way and it's an easy fix. Check out this video below explaining the what's, why's, how's of a broken Sega CD system:

Easy fix right? Well here's my problem, it seems I have a different Sega CD model 2 version then in the video. The motherboard is completely different and I can't find a tutorial on my version console. I've looked up 4 different video and 2 written tutorials and they are all for the other motherboard. This is what my board looks like:

Any help would be nice. Like pointing out the possible fuse or just telling me I'm fucked.

Thanks guys.

The fuse for that model is in the lower right hand corner. It has a little green top, and is the only thing in the corner with a green mold top. That is your fuse.

Easier yes, cheap no. It cost around $30-40 for a another system, while a new fuse costs $.50.

I'll test it out. I don't think it's it because theirs about 3 other exact same green mold top things on the board. See that's the problem, the fuse doesn't stick out like the motherboard.
Digital Press has a board on their forum dedicated to repairing and restoration. I would check there for some help.
Great idea. I'll make a post.
