Need some advice on which Ipod

MrX

CAGiversary!
For everyone that has one should I get the nano(4g) or go all out and get a 30 gigger? I realize the size diff I am only talking about issues. How many of you have had issues with the full sized 5th gen ipods vs the nanos. Also I am going to be getting this at bb, is their protection plan worth it?

Depends on how many MP3s you have.

I have 40GB, so a 30 would still piss me off because I'd wind up swapping songs.

I have the 30 gig and its great...but next time I get an iPod I have to get the bigger one. My DVDs are taking up too much space.

The nano one is better for portability, it looks great, and will last you longer because it uses flash memory vs a hard drive, which is why it doesent have a larger storage (4 GB is still large for flash). If you plan on using it for a long time I'd get the Nano, but if you only want to use it here and there I'd get the 30 GB.

cant a 30gb ipod hold like 10 thousand songs? possibly more? i dont know the numbers but come on dude

say you only had 10 thousand songs on there at only 3 minutes each

that is over 20 days of STRAIGHT LISTENING TO SONGS

how the fuck are you going to tell us that it pisses you off to swap songs? because i would have to point out that it is your own fault for not putting the ones you wanted to listen to originally on there, because there is no way in hell your listening to that thing inside in out and getting "pissed off" at its measily 30gb harddrive

you people discust me

Answer one- I'm lazy.

Answer two- The 10 GB of music I'll feel like listening to at any given juncture will invariably be the 10gb I did not include.

Answer three- go fuck yourself. :bouncy:

Truly, the flash drive (nano/shuffle) versus hard drive (video ipod) can't be overstated. I'd recommend the nano if you plan on working out a lot, although I just upgraded to a 60GB Video from a 20GB 2nd gen ipod, and never had problems with either (the video's only a week old, so don't take my word for that there).

I have around 500+ cds on my 60GB ipod right now, and I have 30GB still available. I will never ever ever have to swap songs out or do anything like that, and I don't have to use my PC or external HDD to store my songs. That's nice. I'm not the kinda person who makes/changes playlists, so having a large ipod is nice versus a nano.

I used my shuffle almost everyday until it crapped out on me(less than 7 months of owning it) so it makes me a tad worried about flash vs hd. I have plenty of music and pod casts that will fill up about 20gigs on the 30 so that is where I am stuck, do I want to take the risk on flash again. As far as Creative goes I am willing to admit that I am a Itunes whore and have never seen another program work as easy as it does. Otherwise I may consider it. If someone knows of one that grab all of my podcasts and rip cds into ACC and is easy to use I am all for it

i had a nano crap out on me after 6 months but apple had a brand new one in my hand within a week and payed all shipping even sent the box to my house and came and picked the box up.

I was wondering the same thing, Nano or 30 gig, I finally decided on the 30g and I must say, best decision ever... Yes I also looked at the Zen for a little bit, then I remembered I wanted to get a case for my Mp3 player... so I went with the iPod.
Get the 30 GB video iPod.

Nano is a rip-off.
Yeah, do that. iPod is pretty much worthless without the video feature IMO.
Does the Nano not played video?
It does. My friend put linux on his and we watched some Chappelle show I remember. But it later crapped out on him and stuff...It's not supposed to play videos that I know of, but he like haxx0red it.

Kudos for the perfect picture comeback!

I personally own the Nano for its portability but would recommend the 30 gig since its only an extra $50 and gets you 26 more gigs. I don't have much of a music collection (8 gigs) so I'm fine with the Nano.

In addition to you not only making a personal attack on a comment that in no way concerns or involves you, your rebuttle was an infantile, profanity laced, almagamation of stupidity and cockslappery.

YOUR WINNER!
Why would you want to fight someone in real life just because of something form a message board?
He was hoping to sound like a virtual bad ass and increase his e-peen?

Why did he hurl insults at me because I have 40GB of music?

Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsiepop?
