Need some help from my fellow CAGs

I am more interested in how this occurred than how to fix it.

Then again, the story prolly involves a small child, someone looking the other way, and a poorly placed marker.
 
I've already googled. I was really looking more for what really worked for people. I've seen plenty of the... "Oh try this.... but I haven't bothered to..." Just wanted some feedback on it is all.

On how it happened... My very crafty 3 year old. Nuff said.


EDIT:Cleaned w/isopropyl alcohol 70% and a microfiber cloth. Marker free and looks like it never happened.
