NEVER EVER buy from Gamestop

Okay i order the buy 1 game 29.99 or higher get 1 free. Well i got Marvel vs Capcom 2 for 34.99 and Phaton brave LE for free the packing list says this .. Well i got my games today Guess what no boxes no books no nothing. NO big deal right but NO MUSIC CD. The packing list says LE but i didnt get the music cd. WEll i called the customer number and the lady is a freaking bit h saying i didnt order that and it dont Matter what the hell the shipping label says i ordered the normal version. SHe says if i dont like it send them back and they will refund me the cash . I have to pay to send the freaking games back + I know for a fact they will say WHERES THE MUSIC CD since right on the shipping label it says LE... I asked to talk to the main boss and the women goes Iam the main boss here and i was like right... Anyone know if there is anything i can do or am i stuck with taking the chance of sending the games back to gamestop and hope they give me my cash back
 
Were they supposed to be used? If so, you should know by now they suck ass with used games. And you can't take games bought online back to B&M stores, so you'd have to send them back.
 
Just call again, talk to the next person nicely, and ask nicely what can be done. At the very least it is likely you won't get such a jerk and you can ask them these questions themselves. Whoever answers the phone really could care less whether or not Gamestop rips you off, so you can shoot straight with them and they will do the same with you.
 
Were you polite to the CSR or did you scream at her? I think if you insist they will send a prepaid mailer to you for the return. I know one or both out of EB or GS will do this. Of course with EB you can now just return to the B&M stores.

Anyway, no cases or manuals sucks. That's why I don't order POed from Gamestop.
 
i really dont care about no box or book I care about the limited ed cd that came with the game that never came ... It shows LE on the packing label but the women goes im pulling it up right here and it says you order the normal version and the packing label dont mean Jack. BUt once i mail them back what keeps them from saying WHERES THE CD since the packing label says LE
 
In my expereince, all big companys suck. You pay for what you get. If you want a cheap price, you are going to sacrifice custormer service. There are exceptions, like newegg.

Its so much better to shop at "mom and pop" type stores. They will get to know you, and provide ten times as better service.
 
i got lucky with gamestop.com....a while ago when super monkey ball 2 was kinda rair i ordered from them and i got everything and the disk was flawless....sorry to hear your experience

sheesh i am always REALLY lucky with gamestop

the valkyrie profile i got from them is complete/mint and ditto on the marvel vs capcom 2.

With gamestop getting the anything more than disc only for their used games is always a bonus. marvel v capcom 2 + phantom brave disc only for $35 dollars isnt such a bad deal, but if you want your refund then send the games back.
 
Only buy used from Gamestop B&M. I can't belive that they haven't even begun to migrate from this insane practice. You know what, don't even shop there. EBgames all the way.

Or did you see LE on your packing list and thought you could get a freebie?
 
I never buy used games from gamestop.com (unless you don't give a crap about the Case or Instructions). They don't guarantee the instructions/case nor if it comes with a special CD (like Silent Hill 3) even if it's "Supposed" to come with an extra CD 80% of the time it wont. So I'd just return it and get something else if you really want that CD. I only buy used games from the store, since I know what I'm getting. Tough break, at least you know not to do it again.

packing list says LE so it should been le. If it wasnt le then they shouldnt of put LE on the packing list . If that is the case it still their fault for putting LE On the packing list
 
I have been lucky the two times I ordered from Gamestop.com. I got in on a couple deals like this one and both times I got case and instructions for all the games. I am still wary of them though. I have only taken the chance twice and even though I had good experiences, I don't plan on ordering from them all that often for used games. I'd much rather get used at B&M.
 
why dont you just buy the game cases and manuals and get over it? I think they tell you on the site it doesnt come with case and manual and yeah it sucks but the deal you got on the games really didnt. If i had the money id jump on that deal right now. The packing might say LE but that doesnt mean jack. Go into B&M stores and 80% of the used games that come with extras arent traded in with them. They dont really give you more credit so why trade it in with it?

Never, ever, is one heck of a long time. And usually shows that it's ridculous, indeed. I think I smell the scent of attempted freebie hunting.
 
Indeed. Slidecage it sounds like you ordered those two games thinking it was a great deal. Then when you saw the shipping label you got greedy and wanted to squeeze some more out of it. Come one we're supposed to be cheap not greedy here.

well the way they treat the people on the phone is another REASON Never to buy from them again. I had problems before with Ebgames and never was talked the way i was like with the gamestop people. I will stay with EBGAMES but i Doubt i will ever go back to gamestop.. I could really care less about the music cd , but it says LE On the packing label . ANd the way they acted on the phone like i said.. Also At least Ebgames pays to ship the games back to them Gamestop was like well if you dont want the games you got to send them back at your cost and then we will credit your account. I asked how long and they didnt have a clue

Just the way you handled the situation sounds ridiculous. Not that I work for gamestop or anything. But you should never be rude to the people on the other line and be expected to be treated professionally. The individuals that work for the company doesn't represent the whole company itself. One circumstance of bad experience on your part doesn't justify that we shouldn't shop there. There seem to be a lot of misunderstanding on your part and you sound very demanding. Who the hell knows exactly when you will get credited back on your account. Obviously they had to make sure, they receive the games first before crediting back to you account. You should be glad they didn't ask you how long you're going to ship them back the games. :cry:
 
Why is Slidecage always bitching about something every week? Honestly, it seems like every few days he's on here bitching about his mailman, EB's shipping, Gamestop's shipping, broken doors and packages in the road.

i wasnt rude i asked them If it says LE right on the Shipping label Why i didnt get the bonus Cd and that is when they got all pissie about I didnt order the LE and they didnt care what the Shipping label said ... And about the games i Asked them if i shipped them out tomorrow (what would been friday cause no mail today) they said They have no clue how long it will take to get my Credit back after they get the games... The point is the SHIPPING LABEL SAYS LE SO what keeps them from saying I kept the Music cd cause I would only mail back the Game.

Dude, you're in the wrong. They aren't gonna give you something you didn't order. The label was obviously some error, but the fact remains you didn't order the LE. Like someone said, the LE isn't even on the site, so they are not even going to think you "kept the cd". They don't have them in the first place.

If you play it straight and always be courteous, things work out appropriately.

k thanks i think i might blown this up too much on the boards but the simple point like i was trying to make to the people on the phone the Shipping label says LE and when i return these I dont want to get a letter saying Where is our music cd. The lady on the phone was very rude and acted like she didnt care if i got a refund or not... and the LE was on the site the day i ordered it

This really doesn't have much to do with your thread, but I felt like bitching and didn't want to start a new one, plus it is phantom brave and gamestop related.

I was in Gamestop and I saw they had a used Phantom Brave for 28$ and it was the SE box. I take it up there, ask to see the discs and one of the nerds working there (I know not all gamestop employees are nerds, but this guy sure as hell was) said, it was his copy he traded in so it was mint. He pulls it out to stick it in the case and I noticed it didn't have the music cd, when I said something he said "well they didn't give any extra credit for the cd so I kept it". What a jackass! I told them in that case I didn't want it and all 3 employees seemed shocked and offended. It wasn't a big deal, but I really wanted the SE for 28$, it just kinda bummed me out. On the bright side though I did find a copy of skygunner for 10$ and a used Fable guide for 4$.

Gamestop employees are like that. They always seem shocked if you want a complete, mint game.

Why are you even returning it? They gave you exactly what you ordered, which has been proven in this thread. So they got pissy with you when you tried to get something you didn't even order? I can see why. You want to know why you didn't get the LE? You didn't freakin order it, that is why. It's not that hard to figure out.

To me, it looks like he ordered Phantom Brave LE, knowing that limited edition means it comes with the cd. Why the hell else would you specifically order limited edition? If I ordered, for example, Halo 2 CE I sure as hell would be upset if it didn't ATLEAST come with the dvd. What's the point, otherwise?

Not only that, but he nowhere says that he was the first to get rude. You guys are just assuming.

If he did, however, order unknowingly, then you got what you paid for. If you were a dick first, you got what you gave.
 
Something I'd like to add, when I was talking to manager at Gamestop he said they didn't have a seperate SKU for the LE, so it's pretty likely that combined with the fact gamestop.com doesn't have a listing for the LE he ordered the regular version, saw LE on the packing slip and tried to get the CD.

I can't really blame him though, I'd have tried too. But I don't see what the problem is? When you ordered didn't you order knowing you were getting the regular version since the LE isn't listed on their site.

He didn't order the LE. Cornfedwb pointed that out on the first page. That's why people are reacting like this.

Sounds like the same reaction they give when anyone declines purchasing the opened display copy as 'New'. Ah, you gotta love em.

LE was on the page when i ordered it but the case is closed since im playing it now and SOrt of like it so im going to be keeping it....

He didn't order the LE. Cornfedwb pointed that out on the first page. That's why people are reacting like this.[/quote]
