New Firmware messes with Ratchet?

Hey everybody, i'm getting this glitch in ratchet and clank that won't go away.

Whenever I get into the games menu system such as for buying armor or weapons and ect and I try to exit the menu to get back to gameplay it'll freeze on me and force me to restart the console.

Can someone do me a favor and see if this happens on their console? I think its the firmware since it only poped up this month but I guess it could be something else if no one else is getting it.

I think its an error with the disk reading.

I'm not getting what you're describing. Although today I did hear a loud buzzing noise coming from the vicinity of the TV/PS3 area. Although it went away immediately after quitting the game.
 
Yeah, sorry about that I wrote it to quickly.

Basically, when you're playing the game you have the chance upgrade your weapons or armor and ect.. in these stations. When I use these stations and get into the shopping menu the whole game starts to stutter and worst of all when I click done to exit the station (circle button) the whole game freezes and causes me to restart my system.
 
That hasn't happened to me yet. Do you try to uprade/buy anything while at the stations? Also, what type of unit do you have? 20? 40? 60? 80?
 
When was the last update? I beat the game on sunday after playing for several hours and had zero problems. I don't recall updating anything since then as I hardly ever check the Playstation store and only have played the Simpsons game like once since finishing up R&C.

80gb :ps3: I know i've updated somewhat recently I remember it forcing me to get into the PS Store.... I'm pretty sure it wasn't this week though.
 
I guess I over reacted with this topic. I got it to work today although all of last week it wouldn't. Must have been the disc being dirty at exactly the right spot to cause this.

It just stutters a lot but that might have always been there. I have to wait 5-15 seconds for it to exit the menu but at least its working now.
 
Yeah happens to me to (takes 5-10 mins to exit the weapons screen); the thing is the disk is scratch-free...

I don't know what the problem is but I think its related to the firmware update since It only started after I upgraded.
 
Yeah the store menus take a bit to close. Only I can't remember if it was taking the same amount of time before the update or not.

I think it saves everytime you exit, so perhasps it is the HD writing that slows it then.
 
Mine doesn't freeze, but when I am upgrading I do notice it like stop for 1-3 seconds and then it continues. The controller de-syncing is more of a pain IMO.
