[quote name='IGN']IGN: What happened with the GameCube peripheral that Nintendo president Satoru Iwata would be at E3 2004?

Perrin Kaplan: You'll hear more about it this year.

IGN: Is it a hard drive or mass-storage memory device for the GameCube?

I forgot about this!

No, this is a peripheral specifically for the cube. Iwata said that Nintendo was going to extend the GC hardware life cycle with new and innovative peripherals which would allow people to control games in ways they never imagined.

not that either. after the zelda surprise and the non-sucking ds, im even more stoked for this secret than i was before

Well, after the big Zelda surprise, who knows what it will be. I remember reading some interview on IGN (from Reggie?) saying that it will be revealed this year.. not necessarily at E3. But the prez said it would be E3 2004... so I dunno...

My guess: Virtual BoyCube!

DS to gamecube connector? It would be sweet if there were a way to play GC games on the ds so you buy the game once and could play it on two systems.

Nintendo is going to have a Space World this year, they have to. They need to show these off, Zelda some more, the GameBoy DS (that's what I will always call it), Mario, hints at next system.

Speaking of the new memory card, in the July EGM (page 73), EB Games has it in their ad.

Memory Card 1019 $29.99

It looks to be the same color as the MC 59. I wish it were indigo or platinum or black.

Does anybody know when it'll be out?

They were supposed to come out with an SD memory card soon after launch *laughs to self* but they never did...That would be great because youd only need one memory card...128 megs of space? 256?...you got it...

Nintendo decided that the SD memory card would kill profits from the regular memory cards so it was never released in the US. Another downfall was that the game had to support the SD memory card.

It's a damn shame.
