New here! But 1 question

SketchyMidnight

CAGiversary!
Well hey everyone, I'm Jay and blah blah blah. Looking forward to being part of the community here, looking for deals, eventually making a few buds here.

Well anyways, last year I used to be pretty active in gamesharing, and most of the people that I've done it with haven't had access to those PS3's in a LOOOOONG time. I was wondering if calling up Sony again would have them be able to deactivate my account on all the other consoles?

Last year I called about this and the person I spoke to told me that I'd have to send in each PS3 for them to deactivate it, even though I told them that they're has to be a way for them to do it remotely from there.

If this was the case I would tell the people I've done this with to do it themselves but some had to send PS3's in and such and blah.

TL;DR, my PS3 is on 5 accounts including mine, but I only want it on mine. Can anyone confirm Sony can deactivate it themselves or something?

PSN is my ID here btw!

I honestly cant answer your question....but I can say " Welcome to CAG ! "

Completely off topic but you should download this week's podcast ( Its AWESOME )

once again welcome to CAG

I need to know! :p

Off Topic::( Thanks anyways & thanks for the welcoming!
Looking forward to being a part of the gaming community here.

And how are the podcasts here?

@maxim2boobles, Oh thanks douchebag, that really contributes to the topic at hand doesn't it?

Could I please get some help preferrably from someone who's dealt with this experience?

No, Sony wont deactive your friends accounts or help you with your game sharing

If you do google your question, you'll get your answer though. Which is: Maybe

From what I've read it really depends on the person you speak to and what kind of mood they are in. I have a friend that did successfully have his account deactivated on all other consoles, but iirc he had a pretty good excuse. I cant remember what it was but it was legitimate.

Anyways welcome to CAG and best of luck dealing with Sony.

If you're still in contact with any of those people why not just go over and take care of it since if you know that they had to send their systems in (in some cases) you apparently talk to, or have knowledge of what they are doing. (as shown in your post)

I have a share on a friend's system that I haven't spoken too in over 3 years, I don't care that it's there as long as he doesn't use it to buy anything, but I don't see the big deal with contacting him and telling him to delete/deactivate my profile from his system.

So what's the problem again...(I'm leaning towards you just being lazy and not wanting to talk to these people) and I'm not trying to be mean, but then again you come in and call people douchbags right off the bat, so just think about how you set the tone of the conversation and the responses you're getting to your problem...;)

I think your best bet would be to call them and tell them that someone stole your password- or that you have a kid or little brother or something that gave out your password to his friends without your knowledge.

They seem to be pretty 50/50 on this stuff- so if you don't call and say "I gameshared, and I'm out of shares. Fix me up". They might be able to help.

That said- telling someone to "Google it" or "Call the store yourself", is going to be a pretty common place response around here. Especially on a subject that is probably addressed a few dozen times in this forum already.

Okay I can try this. Seems pretty obvious but nevertheless I didn't think of saying that. If that's a common response then I'm probably not gonna like it here, considering I heard this was a helpful community and not a bunch of people telling me to go to google like that wasn't the 1st thing I tried.

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

Well I called and tried that excuse and they told me it isn't possible to deactivate my account on all known consoles and then reactivate it once.

Any other ways?

@crzyboy88, I dont have access to the other consoles.

ANYWAY I called back and got put on the line with someone else and they deactviated my account on all PS3s and allowed me to do reactivate on mine. SWEET!
They said it was a 1 time thing though.

It is a helpful community. However, this exact question was answered in a thread on the second page.

As with any forum, search first, then ask a question. If you don't follow such simple steps, then you shouldn't be surprised when you get such responses.

I had searched but I wanted a response directed at me and such. Anyways thank you, you guys have been helpful at least.
